Chapter Sixty Nine
His lips are soft against my own as they move in sync. My other hand moves up to cup his face as he deepens the kiss, while running his hands up and down my waist. The kiss isn't fast and sloppy, it's slow and passionate, the perfect first kiss.
Just as I feel myself running out of air, Louis pulls away and places his forehead against my own, "Finally. I've been wanting to do that since the first time I saw you but everyone keeps interrupting us every time I try."
A small giggle escapes my lips as I think back to our two almost kisses, "They do don't they."
Louis places a small kiss on my lips before pulling away again, "I really do love you Mim."
"I really do love you Lou," I sigh as I wrap my arms around his neck, playing with the ends of his hair.
I feel my eyes flutter closed as he rubs his nose against my own, electricity sparking at the skin to skin contact. I sigh in content as I finally feel happy for the first time in a really long time. I continue to run my fingers through his hair, remembering the feel of the strands against my skin.
"Oh my god! Mimi!" Louis exclaims, causing me to open my eyes in fright, "I'm so sorry. That was a terrible first kiss. It should have been romantic. I'm sorry."
So that's what his yelling was about. He thinks that that was a terrible first kiss, "Louis. Stop it. That was the perfect first kiss. It doesn't matter where it happened or how romantic it was. It was with you and that makes it perfect."
I watch as a small sigh escapes his lips, "Are you sure?"
"Positive," I mumble as I press my lips against kiss for the third time.
He reacts instantly, moving his lips slowly against my own. I savour the feeling of his soft lips on mine, trying to remember every tiny crack and every small bump. I can feel his hands on my waist, their warmth seeping through the material of my shirt.
Louis pulls away and starts placing small kisses down my neck and onto my shoulder. That's when reality hits me and I pull away from him in. I watch as a look of shock and hurt crosses across Louis' face.
"I'm sorry Lou. I just don't want to move too fast," I mumble as the memory comes flooding back in full force.
I crawl off Louis lap before standing up and walking around to the other side of his bed, so I'm in standing in front of the window. I watch as the small droplets of rain run down the cold glass, racing each other to see who can be the first to reach the bottom.
"What's really wrong Mimi," Louis whispers as he moves to stand behind me.
"Nothing," I answer immediately, feeling the need to protect myself.
"I know it's not nothing Mimi," Louis replies as he wraps his arms around my waist and rest his head on my shoulder.
"It was when I was in eleventh grade," I sigh as I recall that dreaded night.
"Come on Mimi!" Alexia says as she pulls me by the hand into the large house.
I can feel the loud music as it shakes the house. The front lawn is scattered with red plastic cups, the typical teenage party cutlery. I can smell the smoke coming from a few of the boys that are outside, smoking cigarettes.
As I step into the large house, I am met with the scene of bodies moving against one and other as they dance to the music. I can see a few people kissing, basically shoving their tongues down each others throats.
"Let's get something to drink!" Lexi yells over the loud musics but I can still barely hear her.
She leads me into the kitchen which is stoked to the brim with cups and alcohol. I watch as Lexi grabs two cups and pours some type of alcohol into them. I don't really drink, for a few reasons, so I can't tell the difference.
"Here, drink this," Lexi says as she hands me a red cup.
I take it from her before taking a swig, the liquid burning my throat on the way down. I watch as Lexi starts to talk to some random dude that was standing next to her. Sighing, I start moving through the crowd of people until I am standing outside.
Two hours later and I'm pretty wasted. I've had about five drinks and now I'm talking to some random guy I met about an hour ago. He's pretty nice looking too. His name is Blair and he has really dark brown eyes and ivory black hair that falls just below his ears.
"Let's get out of here," he whispers in my ear.
The logical part of my brain would have screamed no but since I had had quite a bit to drink, that part of my brain is pretty much gone. I nod at him before taking his outstretched hand. I let him lead my through the house and up some stairs until we are in a room with the door closed.
I snap myself out of the memory, not wanting to relive anything else from that night. That had to have been the worst night of my life. Especially considering, when I went home, my mother was there ready to beat me until I passed out.
"I didn't know it but he put something in my drink," I mumble, tears forming in my eyes, "He started kissing me and I didn't object. I mean, I was drunk. After a little bit I could feel myself going weak and my eyes going heavy and I didn't know why."
I let a small sob escape my mouth as I remember everything, the feel of his rough, calloused hands on my waist. His dry lips as they sucked on the skin on my neck. The helpless feeling that ran through my body as I couldn't stop him.
"I couldn't stop him Louis. There was nothing I could do," I cry.
I feel Louis' arms squeeze tighter around my waist as he tries to comfort me. I try to calm down enough to get the words out but I can barely breather around the tears. I can barely hold myself up as I remember that dreaded night.
"He raped me Lou, and I couldn't stop him."
Well, that went from happy to depressing in 0.3 seconds.
So, that's another reason that Mimi has trust issues. So yeah...
QOTC: Do you think that her past is too much for the story or would it not be the same if that stuff didn't happen?
