[Jack's POV]
I reached the destination, and it was in the middle of a city. I wasn't able to pay attention to where I was, I was just worried about where I needed to be. It appeared to be abandoned, for the door just opened without any hassle.
There was a stair case about twenty feet into the building. On the wall next to them, a note was placed there for my eyes only.
Travel up this staircase, and go on the rooftop. It is only a flight of stairs. You will traverse over a tightrope, around three stories high. If you fail, you will suffer a couple of broken bones at most. Your next note will be on the next building.
"Wh-what?! Are these people fuckin' insane?!" I yelled to myself. My legs were already shaking, and I could feel my body tremble. I run up the stairs, and reached the rooftop. I walked over to the ledge, and just stared at the tightrope. It wasn't an extremely thin wire, but it wasn't thick either. The distance looked tremendous, around fifty feet or so. Some people may think that this isn't difficult, or it isn't as scary as I think it is, but I'd like to see them tightrope fifty feet, three stories, and NOTHING TO KEEP YOU FROM FUCKIN' DYIN'!
I climbed on the top of the ledge, and my legs began to shake even more than they were before. I took a minute to calm myself, but then I knack up the courage to start walking. Every step I took, I thought about Mark, about how I needed him in my life. I was completely concentrated, it was crazy that I didn't fall the first two steps I took.
"Don't look down, Jack. Keep going." Mark's voice echoed in my head. I smile a tiny bit, for even remembering Mark's voice was enough drive for me to keep walking.
I was almost there, probably five steps away, but alas, the wind started to pick up. I lost my balance for a moment, and nearly fall off the rope. I thought that was it. I thought I was going to fall.
I don't know how, but I found my balance, and had enough to jump to the ledge. I fell to the rooftop, breaking the fall with my hands. But that was ok. I had made it across.
It was a miracle.
