It Will Never Be The Same Again (Before You Exit Fanfic)

I decided to write an epilogue because I really miss writing/updating this story. I hope you guys will like it!

CONNOR’S POV

Tonight’s the last night of tour. The band has been doing really great. We had 2 full US tours and we managed to record a bunch of new songs in just a span of a year. We’ve always been together since Mia’s passing, and I can honestly say we’ve been more connected to each other, we became closer, and we appreciated each other more 

We haven’t forgot about her one bit, every night we dedicate our song “Soldier” to her during the show, and we even talk a lot about her during the bus party and sometimes even during the meet and greet session with the fans.

Some even asked how I handled myself after all of that, and all I managed to let out is a simple smile. I can frankly say that I myself am not even close to moving on yet. I know, it’s almost a year. A lot of people kept on telling me to just let it go and forget about her but of course it is not easy. And it will never be easy.

She’s more than just a simple girl to me, in a span of almost a year of us being “together” and being there for each other, I can basically tell that she’s my life already. I loved her more than anyone else in this world, even more than myself. I can’t even express how much I long for her presence as each day pass by but I can’t do anything about it anymore. She’s still very much alive in my heart though, and she will always be.

“Now for this last song, I want every one of you to raise your hands up like this.” Riley said with his mic, and he did this hand gesture where he swayed his arms gently from left to right. “We would like to say thank you to everyone behind this tour. It has been a wild ride, and we can’t be any more grateful for the experience we had, and the moments we’ll cherish for the rest of our lives.” Riley added before putting back the mic on the mic stand.

After tuning my acoustic guitar for our last song, I walked to my side of the stage and said: “Thank you to everyone who has been there for us through everything, thank you for the love, support and for simply showing how much you care about us. You guys are the best fans in the world.”

The crowd cheered and the rest of the band just did some final preparations for the last song.

Riley took a deep sigh before speaking again. “This last song means so much to us, from the writing process and for the person who we would like to dedicate this to. She really is an amazing and beautiful person, and there’s no doubt that she has made a difference in our own personal lives. Some of you guys might know her, some might have heard about her, while some even had the chance to meet her. She’s one of the most important people in our lives, and we just want to say how much we miss her.” Riley said, and I can feel the sadness in his voice.

Even if it’s been almost a year, I can still tell that it still hurts every time we speak about what happened to us. She has made an impact in all of our lives and maybe this is one of the reasons why we get emotional every time we dedicate this to her.

Riley looked at me and waited for me to start playing the chords. I admit, I lost it that time, I kinda forgot we were still playing at the show. “To our soldier, Mia, this is for you. We miss you so much. We love you.” I said, as I played the first part of the chords. “I love you.” I added, before continuing to strum the rest of the chords and Riley just started singing the words.
