He soon heard echoing footsteps inside the ornate house. Josh straightened up his posture and smoothed out his leather jacket he was wearing as Tyler opened the door.

The room behind Tyler was dark, giving the boy in front of Josh a sort of heavenly glow. Tyler stood with black skinny jeans hugging his legs, black vans, and a black t-shirt. Not only was the fact that Tyler wasn't wearing a skirt and barely any makeup surprising, but when Josh saw the light pink, floral kimono flowing from his shoulders to his calves, his jaw dropped open.

Tyler rubbed his shoes together as he grinned brightly at Josh, who still hadn't made any coherent comment to Tyler yet. "H-Hi, Joshua."

Still in his daze, Josh replied with a simple 'hey' as he continued to stare at the brunet. Tyler bit his lip lightly as he began to grow a bit anxious. "C-Could you please stop, Joshua? You're m-making me... nervous."

Instant regret flooded Joshua's chest as he looked down and started apologizing. He hadn't thought of Tyler's anxiety and what was meant to show some sort of affection for the boy, had come across as daunting.

"I, I'm so sorry, Ty, I didn't mean to- and its just you look so- crap, uh-wait, not crap, you don't look like that-" Josh's babbling was interrupted by Tyler's giggles.

Tyler was blushing a bright red as his nervousness floated away like bubbles and was instead replaced with giddiness. Josh shook his head and tried to start over, clearing his throat. "You look great, Tyler. That's what I'm trying to say." Josh rubbed his hands together and his face felt like fire as he hoped his response made enough sense and didn't offend this sweet boy.

"Th-Thank you. Are you r-ready to go?" Tyler hastily closed the door behind him, anxious that his parents would suddenly pop up from behind and question him and his whereabouts. That's a big part of why he wore pants today, instead of his usual skirt.

Josh nodded his head as they started to walk towards his truck. And Josh, being the polite young man that his mom raised, opened the door for Tyler with sweaty palms. But obviously not before he almost tripped walking over to the door.

"So w-where're we going?" Tyler asked as soon as they started driving. Josh only replied with a smile and devious eyes. "You'll see..."

Tyler's eyes were reflecting the bright purple and blue lights of the carnival in front of him as he gasped in happiness. The small boy kept looking between Joshua and all of the rides before him, trying to see if he was serious. Josh nodded and smiled widely at the boy beside him. Tyler was bouncing on his heels out of excitement as he grabbed Josh by the wrist and practically dragged him to the nearest ride, making small remarks of 'thank you' and 'let's go!'

Josh was chuckling as they were getting buckled into something called 'The Wonder Glider.' They were both laying on their stomachs, side by side, with a bar to hold onto in front of them. Josh had never seen Tyler so child like and filled with wonder.

The small boy was looking at all of the neon lights and roller coasters around him as the ride was starting. Tyler began to giggle uncontrollably as the hang glider-like cart holding them began to pick up speed and they started to lift from the ground below them.

Tyler's infectious laughter was getting to Josh as he began to give light airy giggles as well. The two seemed to feed off of each others happiness, neither of them thinking of anything else. Tyler spread his arms out in front of him and smiled widely. "J-Josh! Put your arms out! Like this!" Josh put his arms out in front of him like Tyler did and stared at the look of pure joy on the boy's face.

"You're like a bird Ty Ty!" Even with the wind rushing through their ears, Josh could hear the laugh that left Tyler's mouth as his eyes went wide. "R-Really?" Josh nodded and watched as Tyler started to laugh again, noticing his kimono flowing and wavering behind him. Almost like a bird.
