"Oh yeah totally," he lied, smirking as he started moving so Alyssa laid on her back and he was on top. "I completely hate you."
Alyssa rolled her eyes. "I'm being serious!"
Dominic's teasing face fell. He placed one hand at each side of Alyssa's head, leaning in closer to her. He watched as she took a deep breath in as his movements. He liked the way she reacted to him.
"No," he said, seriously. "I don't and could never hate you, A," he said, making Alyssa smile. But he wasn't done.
"But the offer still stands," he added, giving Alyssa a smile. "You know… the marriage thing." The smile didn't reach his eyes and Alyssa knew he was scared she would say no. Again.
But before she could say her answer the door flew open.
"BOO!" Jeremy and Ella's voice caught Alyssa off guard and she quickly pushed Dominic off of her. Dominic didn't see that coming so he tumbled back and fell off the bed.
Alyssa covered her mouth with her hand as Ella and Jeremy's laughed filled the room.
A shirtless Dominic's head popped up from the other side of the bed.
"Funny," He said, trying not to laugh himself.
"Oh… Did you see your faces!" Jeremy said, in between laughs. Ella had her hand at her stomach.
"My sides are hurting," she laughed, as Dominic got up.
"Keep it up and I'll tell everyone how you got attacked by a bunny," Dominic threatened Ella.
"Hey in my defense-" She stopped mid sentencing realizing something. Dominic smiled at her face.
The event he was talking about happened in the three months they were separated. He couldn't have remembered that unless...
"YOU REMEMBER?" Ella yelled, running to him and hugging him. Dominic chuckled, hugging his friend back.
"Are you serious?" Jeremy asked, making them pull away.
"Yes, I remember everything," Dominic confirmed, nodding. Jeremy smiled and hugged his best friend.
"It's good to have you back," Jeremy said.
"I never left," Dominic said, rolling his eyes, but he hugged Jeremy back.
"Now that we got that out of the way," Alyssa said, suddenly slapping Ella in the shoulder. "Have you guys ever heard of knocking?!"
Jeremy laughed. "Ella noticed you weren't in your room and thought you had Dominic tied up on the bed so he wouldn't leave."
Dominic smirked. "Don't give her any ideas, guys."
Alyssa grabbed her pillow and threw it at him, making everyone laugh.
But suddenly they heard someone scream. It was a girl.
"Did you guys hear that?" Ella said, looking at them. They all froze and listened.
There was another scream followed by a crash. Then the alarms started. It sounded like a fare alarm and Jeremy, Ella, Alyssa, and Dominic all ran out of the room into the living room. Children were scattered everywhere, running to the near exit. Jeremy caught the glance of Ava.
"What's going on?" he asked, as Ava walked over to them.
"It was probably Sky," Ava said, looking around for her older sister. "We made a code- a code red when we pull the fire alarm to clear the treehouse."
