I guided Fage over to camp and introduced her to Trent, who greeted her very kindly, but then asked via mind messaging, What is SHE doing here?! She's a human girl!

I shrugged. I couldn't just leave her there. She looked very sick and like she needed help. Oh, and we're ALL technically humans, Trent.

He sighed, and asked Fage, "Instead of that gross, old prison food, would you like some REAL food? Like apples and berries?"

Fage nodded her head up and down really fast.

"Come on Hurricane," he called. When the lynx crawled out of the den, Fage stared at it with both fear and fascination. "We need to get some more food, they've added another person to our party."

The lynx gave a light growl, and then padded off towards Trent, following him.

She giggled, and said, "Trent has a lot of muscle," and smiled. "He is a big kitty too."

"That's called a lynx," I said.

As soon as I said that, Kate got out of the den and gasped as soon as she saw the young ginger. "Oh my gosh!" She exclaimed, running over to Fage. "What happened to you my dear? You look like a train wreck!"

"I helped her escape from prison," I replied. "She doesn't look quite the best."

"Winter!" Kate called, and her white winged falcon flew swiftly from a high perch to her shoulder. "Find some old fur or something: this girl needs some new clothes!" And with that, the two were off.

"Wow," Fage exclaimed with a little cute smile. "They all care about me already!"

I nodded. "Of course, after what you've gone through."

I started the fire back up with a snap of my fingers and I heard her whisper 'Woah.' as I did so.

I smiled then and remembered the four crystals from the four eggs we had eaten, and I asked her, "Would you like to become an elementalist?"

Fage nodded excitedly. "Of course! Who doesn't want water to control water so it goes into their cup?!"

I chuckled. "Ok ok, but first, there is someone I would like you to meet."

We went down into the old den, and I used water to form a mirror. After saying an old ancient phrase that meant, "Open the doors from sight, for I seek the face of The Grand Master.", his face appeared with a smile.

"Greeting Scarlet and..." he paused, looking at the girl. "Who's she, Scarlet?"

"Hello there, uh.. sir," Fage replied. "I'm Fage. She rescued me from those evil monsters and I want to be an elementalist!"

His face was surprised, but he kept his smile and said, "You do, don't you?"

She nodded. "I want to, sir! Very, very badly!"

He shook his head in a reply. "Lucky for you, Scarlet and Fage, I have the Council here at this very moment. Now Fage, stay here while a few of my friends and I think about letting you become an elementalist."

I moved away from the mirror so that the Council could observe her. Atlas walked by me and sat down and asked with a chuckle, They're really considering?

Yep! I replied with a smile. I hope that they can help her though.

And why is that? She asked.

I sighed. I made a promise to her that I would be her guardian, and I never break promises! If they don't let her become one I would have to wipe out her memory and put her back into an orphanage.

I told you, Atlas said. it's very risky and you must have a lot of responsibility already to want to take care of a child.

I know I can do it, Atlas! I said. Trust me!

She laughed, and it echoed in my head. Know that it's YOU taking care of her, not me. And with that statement made, she walked off.

Fage called me over and I knelt down in front of the mirror, now being able to be seen with Fage.

"Well, Miss Scarlet May," said The Grand Master. "We had asked her many questions about what she knows," he chuckled, but then continued, "I see you've told her a lot."

I nodded, a little worried now that I revealed too much.

"I think that you have the privilege to take care of her." He said with a smile.

I was so happy, and so was Fage, as she gave me a huge grin.

"But first," he said, putting on some old glasses and unrolling a script. "You need to take the Pledge of Guardianhood."

I nodded. I raised my right hand and repeated after him to complete as a statement:
"I, Scarlet Rose May, promise to take this child, as a full responsibility, to help advance her skills in learning elements, to protect her from whatever threats are threatened, and to keep her within the boundaries of camp until given permission to go off by the Grand Master. If I fail to follow any of these duties I will understand the consequences that will follow."

Fage had to take an oath too, and said:
"I, Fage Rosemary, accept this pledge, and give permission to Scarlet Rose May to become my guardian. I will follow her rules and if I do not, will understand her punishments. I promise to stay within borders of the camp until given special permission to be able to not do so. I also promise to keep the existence of the race of Elementalists a secret from any outsider."

As soon as the Grand Master's face faded away, Fage looked up at me with a smile and said, "I never trust a whole lot of strangers," she said, but then continued with a smile, "I never knew though, that they could keep their promises."
