"Damn it, Sky. Why would you lie to me?" I stood there, shocked as he paced around. Avery didn't say a word. "I didn't. I thought you knew. I even confirmed it with you!" Dan turned around with a look of utter confusion painted on his face. "What are you talking about? I think I would have remembered you telling me that you're eighteen for Christ sakes!" Now I was confused. "A few days ago at breakfast I confirmed everything with you. I asked you if you were ok with my age." Dan suddenly stopped and looked defeated. "Shit," he muttered before he returned to his seat and put his head down for a moment.
"I thought you were twenty-one," he said with his head still down. "I never said that. I told you that I was still in school and that it was my senior year. That's why I was so worried. I wouldn't have been if it were my senior year of university!" Dan looked up. "Why didn't you tell me what school you went to?" I crossed my arms over my chest. "Why wouldn't you tell me what your job was?" I retorted. That seemed to shut him up. I sat down at the nearest desk. "You even met my parents. They mentioned me being a few years younger," this time Dan interrupted.
"Your mom said a couple of years. That means two! I didn't think it'd be a whole five years! How are they even ok with that?" I rolled my eyes. "No one means it literally when they say a couple! And they were ok with it because it's legal. Or at least it was legal," I trailed off. "What about you and Avery living with each other? How is that even possible?" Dan was finally sitting up straight in his chair. I took in a deep breath, prepared to answer anything.
"Our parents signed a consent form once we turned sixteen so we wouldn't have to be far from school." Dan slowly nodded. "I guess that makes sense. But seriously, how are your parents ok with me?" That was easy. "They know you're a good person. They know I love you and I guess they saw that you love me." Dan leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes." I should have told you I was going to be a teacher for this school," he muttered. "Why didn't you" I asked curiously. He never mentioned anything other then the fact that he'd be working with math.
"I didn't want to be boring so I barely ever mentioned work. Plus, I thought you were finishing up university and possibly going to medical school soon. I felt so inferior so I wanted to avoid the subject. Why didn't you tell me you went to this school?" I couldn't help but giggle a bit. "Because you never asked. Plus, school sucks so why would I want to mention that during summer vacation?" Dan smiled and answered my question. "Because you're you. You make weird cool."
"Alright, why am I here?" Avery finally spoke up. I almost forgot she was here.
"Right. You're the only other student that knows that Sky and me are a couple." My heart skipped a beat when Dan said this. Maybe we still have a chance. "Plus you're Sky's best friend and she's going to need you there for her since this year is going to be rough." Dan answered. Avery eyed him carefully. "Why is this year going to be rough?" Dan sat up straight in his chair and had an unreadable expression on his face.
"Firstly, if anyone else finds out about this I can probably go to jail for sexual abuse and lose this job, not to mention any chance at a teaching job ever again," Dan explained. "Secondly, the fact that we have actually had sex in your own house won't help the situation either." We looked at him so he could continue. He clenched his jaw before looking at me. I'm sorry Sky but our current relationships isn't going to work out."
I felt like my world was crumbling down before me. My heart started hurting as the tears started to flow down my face. As soon as Dan noticed he began to panic. "No, you don't understand! I don't want to break up with you!" He said quickly. I looked up at him with my eyes still wet from the tears. "What? But you just said-" "I said that I don't think our current relationship is going to work out. Current relationship." Dan said with an emphasis. Still a bit confused, but relieved, I gave him a questioning look. He sighed and then smiled. "We're currently boyfriend and girlfriend, right?" I nodded and he continued. "Alright then. It's probably illegal, or against school rules, so we're going to have to make some changes to our relationship. One change, for example, would be that we are only going to be able to act like a couple on weekends at our own places or out of town where no one knows about." I smiled and nodded. Dan pulled me in for a tight hug and rubbed my back soothingly. At least it was soothing until Avery ruined the moment.
"All right, rule number two is no PDA in public. We can't have you fired or Sky expelled," she said seriously. I backed away from Dan still smiling at the fact that we weren't going to break up. "We need a backup plan," I put in. Avery laughed. "Way ahead of you. Just get Luke to help you guys out. There's nothing wrong with Sky knowing him. Dan nodded and ran his hands down his face once again.
"Alright, it'll be better if you girls leave first. I might stop by a bit later on so we can talk about this situation in more detail but if not, I'll just call." Dan said before he walked over to the door. Ave and I followed. Before I opened the door Dan whispered into my ear. "I love you way too much." I nodded before replying. "Ditto." As soon as Dan opened the door he went back into teacher mode. "Alright ladies, you can go home now. I hope you learned your lesson. I'll see you both on Thursday."
"Yes, we umm... did? Bye Mr. Phillips" Avery said awkwardly as she pulled me out of the room into the hallway. We walked stiffly until we heard the door shut. We then ran towards the parking lot and into Avery's car.

"Longest day ever," Avery said as she opened the door to our apartment. I sighed in response. We walked into our apartment and came to a complete halt when we saw someone sprawled out on the sofa. Luke. "What the hell are you doing in our apartment?" Avery screamed as she charged towards the sofa and smacked Luke upside the head. "Ouch! Is that anyway to treat your guests?" Luke asked, obviously ticked off. "Guest? Guest! Are you kidding me? You're a freaking intruder!" She screamed again and hit him with a pillow with full force that caused Luke's head the hit the back of the cushion. "Calm your hormones, woman! I felt like visiting and you girls weren't home so I decided to let myself in and make myself at home," Luke said with a wink towards Avery. She looked so pissed that I could imagine steam coming out of her ears.
"How the hell did you break in? Ugh, I'm going to my room. Don't let the door hit you on the way out. Actually, please let the door hit you on the way out. Repeatedly," Ave said before storming off and slamming her bedroom door. I just stood there looking at a smirking Luke. "She's going to kill you one day you know?" I stated as I threw my shoes off into the corner and plopped myself down onto the sofa. "Nah, she can't resist this," Luke said while pointing to his body. I started laughing hysterically at him. "Yes she can and she will. This might hurt your ego a bit, but I guess that's a good thing. We've both seen better." I said. His eyes almost bulged out of his eye sockets. "Avery's seen better? Who's the ass wipe?" Luke asked angrily. I looked at him in amazement.
"Is that jealously I hear?" I teased. He tensed up and made a face. "Jealous of Avery liking another guy's body better? You're funny. I just don't believe that she's seen a better body than mine." "So you believe that I have?" I teased again. Luke rolled his eyes at me. "I hate to say it, but yes. I know Dan has a better body than mine and I don't understand how the hell he does it." He said annoyed. "I think you should go. Not that it isn't entertaining that you're annoyed with your best friends hotness, but I need to get some rest for tomorrow. Tell Dan to call me later, ok? I'm sure he'll fill you in on everything" I said quickly as I started pushing Luke towards the door.
"Denied once again. Sure I'll tell him. But I'm going to tell him that you rudely made me leave," he said jokingly as he walked towards the elevator. At least he can't give me a detention for that. "See you soon, Sky," he yelled out before pressing the button. "Yeah, see you soon," I echoed and then closed the door. This day couldn't have been any crazier.
