Hiya! So, I'd just like to give out a little WARNING because this chapter contains a little GORE...yeah...
(Y/n)'s P.O.V
The next day is rather peaceful; no one's yelling at each other or knocking something over. Even the weather is peaceful. More than usual. I sit outside to hear the birds and what else, just to have something to listen to. Silence in this shrine is nothing more than unusual and discomforting.
"(Y/n)? What's up?" Nanami appears next to me without making herself noticeable. "Oh, hiya Nanami..." I say, putting a fake smile on my face. Seeing Nanami right now makes me feel a bit empty inside at the moment. Something's associated with her that isn't here...I can't quite put my finger on it, but it's definitely bothering me with its absence.
"Is something wrong? You look kinda pale-"
"I'm fine," I say instantly. What is it? What is missing, and why does it bother me so much?
The urge to figure it out fills me, but I'm clueless, and don't know where to start."How's your day going? Any homework you need help with?"
My gaze meets Nanami's, who's eyes seem a bit tired. Her mouth opens, purposely to ask me once more if I'm alright, but she never spoke a word. It'd be useless anyway, since she knows that I'd just deny the fact that something's up. That's how I am. Wanting to shoulder everything on my own...or at least try to."When will you stop beating around the bush? It's obvious that something's troubling you."
Tomoe's voice comes from my right side. I turn my head towards him, averting my gaze. "Sometimes I honestly think that you should just mind your own business," I mutter bitterly. From the corner of my eye I can see Tomoe staring intensely at me.
"Your business, is my business. Now, will you tell me what's going on?"I forc myself to take a deep breath to prevent myself from yelling. Tomoe and Nanami sit down beside me with an uptight demeanor, as if I'm about to tell them a prophesy about the world being shredded into pieces within five seconds.
Tomoe's hand places itself gently on my shoulder, reminding me that I have some explaining to do. I shut my eyes, concentrating on where to start. Since that dream I had at school, everything's just been a complete and utter mess. And now, it's just adding onto it; the feeling of something being out of place.
"Something isn't right..." I say, just loud enough for them to hear. Nanami shifts uncomfortably next to me,
"What do you mean?" she asks."Something's...someone's missing...isn't here.."
Longingly, I look up at Tomoe for him to know what I'm implying on.
Give me the answer to what I'm missing here in the shrine, but no.
He keeps quiet, coming off as clueless. Disappointment takes over, and I shrug."Doesn't matter anyway. Just forget that I ever said anything."
Both Tomoe and Nanami look taken back.
I stare stiffly into the ground, ignoring their weird stares.
Out of all the things Tomoe knows, he doesn't know this?Is there something wrong with him?!
Did his knowledge say: 'I'm off today ' and leave him to be beautiful but stupid?!
Okay, maybe I'm going too far.."(Y/n), I think you're just imagining things. Yesterday was pretty rough for you, that's all. I'm sure it'll pass soon enough," Nanami says.
Disappointment turns into irritation, and irritation turns into anger.
How can she say that? How ignorant can she be?Without thinking, I turn my head towards her with such speed that it could've snapped my neck, and yell:
"Are you braindead or something? I'm telling you that someone's missing! And how the hell would you know how my day was yesterday, you pest!"
