During the operation, I was nervous and so was Colin but we remained calm and after a few hours , the surgery was complete and deemed as a success. It was just time to wait for the patients to wake up. The family of both the patients waited patiently outside of the operation room. Colin and I went out to speak to both families as Dr Colos was busy with something else.
"Hello" I said to the first family
"How is our son?!" Said a frantic mother of older age
"His operation was successful and he will be awake shortly after the gas has worn off him. He is safe and is not disabled of any sort" I said
"No need to worry mam, his care is in our hands" Colin smiled
The family sighed in relief
"When can we see him?" Asked the father of older age
" we will call you" I said as Colin and I left to speak to the other family
"Hello" said Colin
"Is our daughter okay?" They asked
"We are glad to say that she is perfectly fine and will recover very fast. You will get to see her when we call you in" I smiled.
They smiled in relief as Colin and I left to check on the patients. I looked at Colin.
"Who knew it would be us to save them right?" I smiled
"Yeah, I'm glad. They're safe now. No matter what happened , they're safe" he explained. I nodded and smiled. Colin and I waited a few hours for them to wake up. Soon a nurse came running to us.
"Dr. Your patient is awake" she smiled. Colin and I looked at each other.
"Cally...you go see them. " Colin said.
"But why? We both did it!" I pouted
"Yes but this is your big time. Plus I have another call upstairs" he smiled.
"Fine" I said as he kissed me and headed upstairs.
I headed to the waiting room to get the family and brought them to room 215 first before I entered where my patient stayed.
I waited around half an hour until the nurse told them they had to leave.
"Dr. It's your turn to speak to the patient" said the nurse. I nodded and slowly entered. The patient was on his side facing the other side of the room. He was moving , that was a good sign.
"Sir?" I said.
He turned around and looked at me shocked.
"Cally?" He questioned
"Hello Alexander Ross, I am your surgeon Cally Cole. The second surgeon of your operation was Colin Cole. How are you feeling?" I asked smiling.
