"Jolly!" My horse pranced away wanting me to play. I got his ball and tossed it for him. He got it and came back with it. Dally stood behind me watching his pal run around.

Jesse went to run errands so I was stuck with two horses and a dog. I continued to play with him. Dally nudged me wanting to be pet.

I scratched his neck and threw the ball for Jolly again. Archie laid in the shade provided by Dally. Then Jolly nipped at Dally and got him to play with him.

Archie laid in the fence shade while I sat on the fence watching the horses play around. Dust was kicked up and made a cloud around the boys as they galloped and frolicked.

Two arms wrapped around me. The hands held onto my belt. I knew who it was the entire time. He pulled me off the fence and into his arms.

"I'm back." His husky voice said. I giggled as he kissed my neck. The boys came over to check us out. He put his arm around my waist and walked over to the horses.

He kissed my cheek and pet both horses. Archie got up and wanted him to love on him. We put the horses out in the paddock and went inside the house.

"Bailey, what would happen if we decided to start a life together?" Jesse asked as he leaned on the door frame. "What are you getting at?" I asked pulling a pot out of the cabinet. "We've known each other for years, I just think we should take the next step in our relationship." He told me.

I filled the pot with water while he spoke and set it on the stove. He got Mac and cheese out and set it next to the stove then got out hotdogs.

We fixed supper and sat down. A knock at the door caused Archie to bark. Jesse got up to answer it. "Mrs. Willingham. Come on in." Mom never said anything about coming to visit.

"Please sit." He told her. I watched as she sat down and ate with us. After we were done eating we went into the living room and sat down. Another knock at the door and Jesse answered. Kollin, Angie and Steele came in.

They sat down and Jesse stayed standing in the middle of the room. "Bailey I know we started the conversation earlier, but I want to know the answer to the question I never got out." He started.

He brought me to the middle of the room. "Bailey we have been friends since that first year at camp and I knew you were wondering why I didn't come back after that one summer. It was because my dad was back on the road and my mom and sister couldn't keep the place going without a guy to help out.

"Then when I saw you again at your last high school rodeo. It was when your horse scared the living crap out of me before seeing you that made me relive that summer in my head. Then when I laid my eyes on you when you came up to get him, I knew nothing had changed about you.

"Then as these few years past I realized that your perfect for me and no one else can match your personality or the way you care about animals or people. When I really saw what was real was when you saved both of our horses." He kissed my forehead. "And now I see a whole new future for both of us."

He got down on one knee in front of me. "Bailey you have made me extremely happy over the years. You may have been a pain at times but nothing I couldn't handle." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a box.

"Will you do me the honor of being my wife and marry me?" He asked opening the box. Inside was a ring with a barbed wire design and a diamond.

The ring was beautiful, he really tried hard to keep me happy, I fell in love with him, he's willing to make me happy for the rest of my life

Two years later
"I watch these two while you guys rope." Kollin told us. Two months after we got engaged my mom passed away due to a heart attack. Jesse has been there for me even when the twins were born.

I got onto Black Jack and Jesse got onto Daredevil. Jolly and Dally were our backup horses now so they just got to travel with us. I backed into the heading box and fixed my loop.

I glanced up and saw our twin daughter and son in their grandfathers arms.  I called it and stuck the horns. Jesse came and looped the heels. The steer stopped with only its front legs standing.

"3.9 for Bailey and Jesse VonAhn." Jesse kissed me as we exited the ring. We each got a child and sat there on our horses. "Go ahead and take your victory lap VonAhn's because you broke the arena record!" Me and Jesse went out and trotted around the ring. "And congrats on the twins." Of course had to make that statement.

We made two rounds before exiting for the next event. Once out we both dismounted Jesse pulled me close and kissed me like he meant it.
