Y/n POV

I woke up really early to D/n licking me to get up. "I'm up! I'm up! Did you cook some fish?" I asked D/n as she walked over to some fish. "Yes, I'm not going to let you starve." I giggled as I ate the fish.

After I had gotten ready we rushed out of the cave, being quiet as we knew that the others were still sleeping.

It was eerily quiet as we walked through the Sanctuary, with only a few dragons awake and flying about.

Soon we were in front of the Alpha as he was waiting. "Good morning young ones. It is nice to know you can wake up early." he said. "I called you here because I wanted to tell you of why I chose you both for such high rolls at such a young age. Both of you have good spirits and pay attention well to your teachers. I can see you both are now best friends am I correct?" He said and we nodded smiling.

"I have been noticing how you Y/n are not getting around as fast as the others and that D/n is getting bigger. I have decided to join your two jobs so that you can help and protect each other."

"Wait did you say protect?" I interrupted "Yes, Do you remember how I told you that you were from a prophecy? I nodded "Well I have been watching you and more of the prophecy has become more and more real.

"You see it all started a long time ago with another Alpha. The Alpha was the top species of all dragons and that was the Shadow fury." D/n and I gasped.

"Yes, I said Shadow fury. There were only a few left and as the strongest he was chosen as the Alpha, but one day the Alpha called all the elder dragons. He was getting very old and he knew his time was coming soon.

"Dear elders." he said. "I have been told a prophecy from a long long time ago. There will be a viking child brought to our nest that could understand dragonese. That child will not smell of our blood and will become the best of friends with one of my own kind. They together will keep the peace between Dragons and Vikings when the time comes. They themselves will not bring the peace but will be the first to be bonded together. They will protect us and live for a very long time if they do what is right and not wrong. This is the prophecy brought down from each Alpha to Alpha. Since I have no sons to take my place I have told you elders so that you can choose the next Alpha to give him this prophecy to pass down until it becomes true." After those words the Alpha died and the elders set out to find a new alpha. They chose a young one. And he was me. I have kept this prophecy to myself and the elders which would be Shadow and Cloudjumper. They are the only ones who knew until now." The Alpha explained, after telling us the story.

Shadow and I looked at each other. Both of us amazed at what we heard. "Do you thing that is us?" We asked in unison.

The Alpha nodded his head. "Yes, I do and because of that I will be teaching you how to protect the dragons from danger instead of you going on to the next level of training with the elders." We nodded understandingly, in awe that we would be taught personally by the Alpha.

After many more questions, answers, and a few breaks, we were surprised to find it was evening and everyone was settling down for the night. "That is all I have to say for now, you shall start training the same time as the others." The alpha said.

He was soon resting down below as we played around before Shadow came and got us for our dinner.

"I didn't realize so much time had passed!" I said looking over at D/n. "Well you were right to say we wouldn't be back till around dinner time." she answered with her smile. I giggled and started chasing her back to the cave.

Soon we entered and said hi to Valka and Cloudjumper before grabbing some fish to eat. "Do you play the violin?" Valka asked gesturing to my Violin. I nodded. "Could you play something?" I smiled and grabbed my violin and bow.

I played the same song I played last time. After awhile of playing Valka joined in but she was singing. "And love me for eternity. My dearest one my darling dear, your mighty words astound me. But I've no need for mighty deeds when I feel your arms around me!" I stopped playing and smiled at Valka.

"How did you learn the song?" She asked looking at me. "My parents taught me and my brother before I was brought here." I answered while taking my violin to its safe corner.

"You'll have to play it more often." I chuckled "Yeah, I guess but right now I'm going to go to sleep." I lay down as I heard a goodnight from Valka and closed my eyes to fall asleep.
