Running Away From Nothing To Everything.

Ruby's pov.

I watch as Christine takes out some of the Golden Eagle pack warriors, but when some get through her defense I would quickly attack and kill them before any harm could come to the women or children. During the fight I tell her they are here for us and they want to kidnap us, but before I can tell her why we both feel sharp pains. I tell the women and children to stay here while Christine makes sure they would be safe while we are gone. We rush out of the area to where Leo is fighting Samson, the alpha from Golden Eagle pack. Christine falls to the ground and when I see that Samson has her mate by the throat and is about to kill him I run and knock them over.

Surprised, Samson lets go, which allows me to grab Samson by his throat and hold him down as I watch a very angry Christine run over and bite down very hard on his leg, breaking it. She doesn’t want to kill him because by law she would then be the alpha of Golden Eagle pack. My mate Seth is still fighting Ethan. When Ethan sees Samson fall, he knows he can't win and he yells, "You will regret this! Nothing will stop me from getting them, I will kill every last one of you to get them and none of you will be able to stop me then!" With that he runs off with the rest of his pack, what's left of it anyway. I'm still holding Samson down when Seth walks over and tells him to leave and not return or next time he will be killed.

He nods in understanding and takes what's left of his pack and goes back to where he came from. Christine walks over to me and hugs me. "Thank you!" she says.

I return the hug. "It’s no problem, I know anyone would have done the same."

"I know but you saved my mate and that means the world to me!"

"I also want to thank you for saving my life," Leo says. He doesn't hug me, knowing my mate would get too jealous, so we just shake hands.

"I'm glad I could get there in time," I say.

We all go in to get looked at by the pack doctor who is running around everywhere to make sure everyone is ok. Leo's neck starts slowly healing but the doctor puts a bandage on it anyway to stop the bleeding. Christine and I just have a few cuts that are healing quickly, and Seth has a wound on his arm that gets a bandage.

When we’re done, Christine takes me aside suddenly and asks me, "What did you mean when you said earlier that they were here for both of us?"

"Well, apparently in our blood lies a power. Not like alpha, beta, or gamma power but like we can usually run faster than other wolves, we can fight better naturally, we are bigger than most she-wolves, and we are the most protective of kids,” I say. “The last thing you want to do is harm or take a kid that we know and we will hunt you down till the ends of the earth and beyond." I hope I'm not overwhelming her. I know that I just found out not that long ago and that it was a lot to take in but now here I am explaining it to my sister.

"Why does Ethan want us though?" she asks.

I sigh, "He thinks since he is a strong alpha that if he breeds with us it will make the strongest pups that he can use to come to high power." I hear both Seth and Leo growl. "Although I don't know how he found this out because I haven't told anyone else besides you and my mate of course, so unless someone else knew and told him I just don't know." I try to think of who else could possibly know and then it clicks. "My mom!" I almost yell, "Well, my step mom, to be exact. Our real mom probably told her and if Ethan commanded her to tell him everything about us that she knew then that could be how he found out!" My mind is buzzing and a million thoughts are running through my head, and now there are so many more questions.
