"Are you sure about that?" Calum asked me with a smirk.

"I'm the one that does the grocery shopping so yes I am sure."

"Well I'm not as sure as you so you should probably go check the kitchen," Calum said with that odd smile never leaving his face.

Instead of responding I gave him a frustrated look and walked to the kitchen with him trailing close behind like a lost puppy.

The sight that met my eyes as I entered the kitchen was amazing and the smell was even better. The table was set to look romantic and a bottle of wine was next to two glasses set at our places that each consisted of a plate with two delicious looking tacos on it. It was so random but so us. A candlelit taco dinner describes the two of us and our relationship so well, romantic and sweet but also quirky and laid back.

"Did you do this all yourself?" I asked Calum with wide eyes.

"Yeah. I've been having Ashton teach me how to make the perfect tacos for a while now so I could surprise you with your favorite dinner," he said with a proud smile.

I was still in shock at his surprise as I pulled him into another hug. "This is so sweet, thank you."

"I'm glad you like it. You don't even know how many times I had to listen to Ashton say 'bam straight in the pan'."

I laughed, imagining Calum's annoyance while he learned how to cook and I basically melted when I realized he put up with being annoyed just for me. I quickly kissed him and whispered, "I love you."

"I love you too," he mumbled against my lips, "but I'm starving so can we please eat?"

"Of course," I responded and we sat down to taste his creations, which turned out to be surprisingly good.

We ate in silence while playing footsie under the table, something we always did because we felt the need to constantly pay attention to one another but neither of us liked to stop eating just to talk.

As I finished my meal and opened my mouth to compliment Calum on his cooking, I heard a set of noises coming from one of our guests rooms that sounded like a giggle followed by a loud thud and then what seemed to be...a bark? Which wouldn't make any sense since Diana was sitting in the kitchen with us.

When I looked at Calum I became even more confused because he had the guiltiest look that I have ever seen on his face. Instead of asking what was going on, which I knew I wouldn't get a straight answer to anyways, I grabbed one of my heels off the ground (I needed a weapon and it was the first thing I saw don't judge) and stormed towards the bedrooms.

"Scarlett, wait!" Calum yelled as he ran after me and blocked the door. "You-you should go sit down or something. I'll go in first to check it out. Then if it's, like, a burglar or something you'll be safe."

"Calum, I don't know what's going on but you've been acting weird since I got home," I stated with my arms crossed and eyebrows raised. "Now get out of my way and let me in that room so I can figure out what the hell your problem is."

He hesitated for a second before wisely stepping to the side to let me pass. I slowly reached out towards the doorknob, hoping I'd find neither a burglar nor another woman. I don't mean to sound dramatic but when your boyfriend is acting weird and doesn't want you to go into a bedroom it's easy to jump to conclusions like that.
