2:30pm

~Scarlett POV~

"Honey I'm h-oh my gosh! Scarlett!" I heard as I slowly blinked my eyes open, struggling to keep them that way when I was hit with the bright sunlight coming in through the window.

"What time is it?" I asked my roommate that was standing and staring at me like she had seen a ghost.

"It's like 2:30."

"Well I'm going back to sleep. Be quiet or leave." I didn't mean to sound so rude but I'm still really tired and if I hate anything it's being woken up, especially by a loud noise like somebody yelling my name.

"Scarlett, I feel like I need to tell you that one of the boys from your posters is sleeping in your bed. And I'm pretty sure those are his pants on the floor. And there's a really cute puppy cuddled up with you."

"I know."

"But...why? What have I missed? We've lived together since last year and I've never once come home to find a boy in your bed. Not to mention this boy has no pants on," she whispered harshly.

"Oh my gosh, Rebecca! No! We didn't do that, he was just uncomfortable sleeping with his pants on."

"Scarlett?" I heard Calum mumble from behind me, tightening his arms around my waist and pulling me back into him.

And for anyone wondering, his morning voice sounds even better than I expected it to. Like, if I heard him say my name in that voice and my roommate wasn't in the room, I'd probably set a new world record for how fast I took my clothes off. Just sayin.

"Hey," I whispered as I turned around to face Calum. "Sorry if she woke you up."

"No that's fine, I'm not that tired anymore. What time is it?" He responded matching my quiet tone and gently rubbing his thumb up and down against my back, causing my skin to break out in goosebumps.

"Apparently 2:30," I said as I wrapped my arms around his neck and laid my face against his chest.

"Hey, um, sorry to interrupt whatever this is but Scarlett still hasn't answered my question. Who's the boy and where did that dog come from?"

"Oh right," I said without turning around to face her. Calum is just too comfy for me to move. "Rebecca this is Calum, Calum this is my roommate Rebecca. Becca, meet my new puppy. Her name is Diana and she will be living with Calum until I get an apartment at the end of the semester. Happy?"

"I'm still confused," Becca stated looking back and forth between Calum and me.

"I'll explain later. Don't you have to go to your girlfriend's place or something?"

"She's not my girlfriend!" She exclaimed. I wasn't looking at her but I knew she was probably bright red. "And yes I'm leaving now. I'll be back for dinner so don't eat without me."

"Okay I'll see you later. Have fun, but not too much fun!"

"Haha very funny Scarlett. It was nice meeting you, Calum. And don't do anything I wouldn't do!" She yelled as she shut the door.

"She seemed nice," Calum said with a smile.

"Yeah I guess."

"You ok?" He asked me with an adorably concerned look.

"I'm tired," I pouted.

"Kiss me?"

"I'd love to," I responded as I wrapped my arms around his neck and pressed our lips together.

~

I honestly don't know how long we kissed but one thing I do know is that at some point I ended up on top of him and his shirt was nowhere to be seen. We finally pulled apart when Diana jumped on my back and started sniffing around to figure out what we were doing. With Diana chewing on a bone in between us, we laid next to each other and occasionally broke the silence with a short kiss or a laugh as Calum's hand that was lazily playing with my hair got stuck in a tangle.

I couldn't help but wonder about the future while I laid there with Calum twirling my hair and Diana laying contently between us. To be totally honest, I had no idea what the future held for us, but for once in my life that thought didn't make me anxious. All I really knew was that there was something between Calum and me and I was just going to have to wait to see where that something went. Hopefully we'd last, but if we didn't at least I had a good time while we were at it. But instead of dwelling on the future, I decided that I should start focusing on today. Right here, right now, I am perfectly happy with everything in my life, and that's all that really matters.

Ok so...that's it I guess. It's a short chapter but it just felt like the right place to end. Thank you so much for reading I honestly can't believe this is the end of 30 like what ? How did this happen?
Anyways, all that's left after this is the epilogue so I'll wait for that to say a lot of mushy stuff :)
Thanks again for reading, I hope you've enjoyed 30.
Oh and happy new year! I hope everyone has a fantastic 2017 <3
