Chapter 33

Zero was left alone on the balcony, the wind blowing his hair as they shadowed his eyes. He lowered down his weapon, his body trembling.

His covered his eyes, trying to hide his tears.

"Damn it..."

You were walking down the hallway fighting hard not to cry when you suddenly heard footsteps coming toward you. You could sense that this stranger had your blood.

"(Name)!" Yuki halted in front of you with a worried look on her face.

Yuki had on her school uniform with a dark brown trench.

"Big sister..." you spoke.

"Where did you run off to?! You had me worried sick! When Aido told me that you fed on him...I..." she looked at you and touched your cheek.

Her warm touch caused tears to come falling down your cheeks. Yuki blinked and stared at you in shock.

"Big sister..." your voice cracked.

"What's wrong? Does your wound hurt? Has it not healed yet?" Yuki asked checking your bandaged stomach.

"I'm sorry..." you added catching her attention. "I'm sorry...I'm sorry...please forgive me." You began to sob as she wrapped her arms around your shoulders and your head, pulling you close to her.

You clutched her jacket as you cried in her arms. Your cries echoing in the halls.

You were back in the room you were in before and got a light brown trench coat on over your uniform. Everything was packed for you. You slowly stood in front of your mirror to see that your eyes were still a little red from crying. But now you feel a little better. You sighed as you placed your hand on your dresser in front of the mirror when you felt some sort of fabric. You picked it up to see your sparkly red and white ribbon Yuki gave you on valentine's day. The day you met her...back when both of you were still human

{Flashback}

You looked up to see Yuki tying a pretty sparkly red and white ribbon to your (h/l) (h/c) hair, still drenched from the shower. You glanced at Yuki as she gave you a warm smile. "There. Now you look adorable. That ribbon really suits you." she complimented you, still smiling. You gave her a shocked stare as she twiddled with her thumbs. "Sorry I couldn't get you chocolate instead. I'm not really good at making food nor this sort of thing. I gave my remaining homemade chocolate to Zero even though he gave Kaname my chocolate in such a rude way. But i'll get you some chocolates next time."

You made your way towards your desk with a oval shaped mirror and gazed at your reflection with the sparkly red and white ribbon in your hair. "This is fine..."

"Huh?"

"I will treasure this forever." You gave her a small grin. And that grin made Yuki sigh in relief as she went on about you not liking it.

{End of flashback}

You tied the ribbon on the side of your head and smiled at it.

{Knock knock}

"(Name)? Are you ready to go?" Yuki asked from the other side of the door.

You ran to the door and opened it, giving your big sister a bright smile.

"Ready as I'll ever be!" You answered.

Yuki smiled then lefted with you holding her hand.

You and Yuki arrived outside the school by the sun dorm gate to see Kaname talking to the night class including Yagari Touga. Yuki let go of your hand and ran up to Kaname, hugging him from behind.

"Brother...thank you for keeping your promise...thank you..." Yuki whispered to her brother.

Kaname looked back at his sister with a warm smile then noticed you. Yuki let go of Kaname and smiled at you. You didn't move, the wind brushing through your hair.

"(Name)..." Kaname said your name which triggered your feet to move as you jumped into his arms.

You buried your face into his chest as he pets your head.

"Do you feel better?" He asked you as you looked up at him.

"Yes. I'm feeling much better. Thank you big brother." You smiled.

"It's true the Senate was detestable." Yagari said, pointing his shotgun at Kaname's head with a death glare. "But they existed to keep the peace. Unnecessary conflicts will start occurring now...because of what you've done..." he added.

Kaname faced him but you hugged his arm to hold him back while Yuki stood in front of the two of you.

"Yaragi-sensei!" She says as he stares at her and she at him.

Kaname wrapped his arms around both yours and Yuki's shoulders and pulled you away.

"I did it to protect the precious future...because they were devouring everything so greedily. It's my responsibility. Everything I've done was for this day." Kaname tells Yagari.

"Your responsibility..." Yagari repeated.

"Lets go Yuki...(Name). We shouldn't be here anymore." Kaname said as he guided you and Yuki away. "Thank you everyone." He said looking over at his friends.

Kaname guided you and Yuki down a flight of stairs towards the exit when Yuki noticed something out a window. She stopped and stared.

"Big sister?" You stopped as well as Kaname to see what she was looking at.

There by the old vampire dungeon, was Zero holding his brother Ichiru. His brother looked as though he was sleeping, minus the bloody coat.

Your eyes grew wide at what you were seeing when Kaname continued to walk. You couldn't move because of what you were witnessing...your heart ached. Then Zero looked back up at you and Yuki. His gazed almost crushed your heart.

"Yuki...(Name)..." Kaname called.

Zero turned away, carrying his dead brother. You and Yuki stood there watching, your hair blowing in front of your faces.

"Goodbye..." you both said.
