Crying Lightning (An Alex Turner Fanfiction)

Dull. If i could sum up England in one word it would be dull. Our Skies are grey, our grass is always a tinted withering brown, not to mention it's raining most of the time.  

''Ari quit daydreaming, c'mon we gotta go now!'' My gaze through the window was obliterated by a small dark haired figure. ''What're you doing with that window open, it's freezing in here.'' I got up and yanked at the stiff window until it finally closed shut.

''Maisy, we really don't need to leave this early-'' ''well I can't keep Miles waiting'' Maisy impatiently interrupted as she untangled her coat and slipped into it.

''Fine,but remember, you owe me a ten quid for this.''

She scrambled around in her purse and tossed me a ten pound note ''ten squid it is Atkins''. I caught the note and jogged down the hall to grab my cheetah print coat whilst trying not to trip over Maisy's cat Porridge.

We were surrounded with frosty air as we left the house, approaching my vintage Ford Cortina which was my mum's old car. We hopped in and left the driveway. ''Ari, are you excited and nervous? I know you get pretty shy infront of people but it'll be okay, you have me and Miles'' Maisy tried to reassure me.

''Maise you know i get INCREDIBLY shy infront of people, especially band members... especially people who are hot..... *cough* Alex Turner *cough *''

You see i've had this undying crush on Alex Turner (the frontman of the Arctic Monkeys), since forever.

I always get so flustered and suddenly lose the ability to speak properly when i'm infront of people who i have a crush on. The concert we're going to tonight is the arcitc monkeys, and Maisy's boyfriend Miles happens to be the support act for them. She wanted to go early so she could spend more time backstage being all lovey dovey with Miles. But of course that leaves me wandering around aimlessly like a pathetic idiot.

''It'll be fine, come talk to Alex with me and Miles, besides you got ME as a wingman or wingwoman should i say'' she winked.

I grinned ''You're so cringey Maise'' we both cracked up laughing.

'' Girl please, all you gotta do is strut your stuff, how do you think i got Miles? Alex will probs be looking flaming hot as always, so it'll be a piece of cake''

''I'd really like a piece of Alex's cake'' i thought aloud ''YEAH you're right Maise! I gotta strut my stuff and show him him my personality and if he doesn't like that ,then i dont know what will win him over!''

after that pep talk i felt confident, i feel like i can do anything!

Floodlights loomed over the crowd of people reserving their spots ready for the concert. We presented our VIP passes to the security guard and made our way backstage.

''Relax Ari they're just through here'' Maisy ushered. My heart was beating out of my chest. Oh come on don't sweat now, you dont want to look like shit infront of Alex, i told myself, remember stay calm and confident and nothing will go wrong.

''You ready? c'mon.'' Maisy lead me into the room where Miles and the band were hanging out before the concert.

''BABYYYY!!!'' She sprinted towards Miles and leapt into his arms

''I'm so glad you and Ari could make it babe!'' ''we would never dream of missing it'' Miles kissed Maisy's neck which made her giggle.

''You two, get a room!'' Alex protested, i smirked which seemed to catch his eye and he smirked back. i started blushing bright red almost immediatley. He quickly flashed a wink at me. Oh my god, did he just wink at me!? I was screaming inside at this point! The look on his face showed he was satisfied with what he'd done to me. He was so hot though, his quiff perfectly gelled and combed, his sharp jawbone highlighted all of his features, he wasn't wearing his aviators so i could see his mysterious deep brown eyes, he wore clothes similar to the ones he wore in the R U Mine music video. Black T shirt and jeans.

''Ay Al you up for some foosball'' Matt chirped. ''Sure mate, be with you in a second'' Alex replied sauntering towards me. Oh my god. Oh MY GOD. what am i going to do- Alex interrupted my thoughts ''You alright there,love?'' I quickly looked over to Maisy for help but she was busy in a snogfest with Miles.Great.So much for a 'wingwoman'. ''Oh erm m-me?.. hehah yeah im fine thanks how are you?'' my face started plummeting to a red hot temperature. i was embarrassing myself already and i could feel all my confidence shrinking into nothing. He must think i'm just another stupid fangirl, wow great i've gone and ruined my chances with him, im such a loser what is he even doing talking to me, no i shouldn't think like this. ''Fancy a game of Foossball with me and Matt?'' okay stay cool ''Yeah,sure sounds fun!'' ''Promise not to cry,when i beat you both'' he replied smugly

''In your dreams! You'll be the one crying when im finished" i told him.
