Sleep - Her dreams could come true for a few hours.
Queen Cyanide P.O.V
When he asked me to dance I was surprised. I thought he would clench his jaw and continue staring off into space for the rest of the night.
When he asked me I took that risky step on to the tight rope, I said yes and placed my hand in his. After I placed my hand in his he led me to the middle of the dance floor. You could tell that we both had many lessons in dancing because we glided effortlessly over the marble floors.
"I feet like Cinderella, but she was dancing with Prince Charming while I'm dancing with the devil," I randomly blurted out.
His eyebrows knitted together as if he was confused," who's Cinderella?"
I gasped and stumbled a little at his question, "you've never watched Cinderella, the movie that the humans created?"
"I don't like to bother myself with human culture."
"What happens if you get stranded in a human town and you have to fit in?"
"You're such a pesky little queen, you ask way to many questions," he twirled me around.
"Am not, I bet you listen to all the supernatural gossip."
"I also don't like to bother myself unnecessary gossip."
I nodded," you should talk with more emotion, it makes you more likeable and you sound like a robot."
"Why should I care about being likeable Queen Cyanide?"
"After all you are a king and call me Lilah, King Monroe."
"Don't call me that, call me Dexter and I'm starting to regret my decision of asking you to dance."
"Well I'm not regretting saying yes." I replied.
We fell into a comfortable silence and continued dancing.
I broke the silence with a very idiotic question," what do you do on your free time."
"I brutally murder my enemies I have locked up in a cage under the castle."
My eyes widened at his reply.
He looked amused at my reaction, " I was joking."
"You seem like the type of person who would."
He stopped dancing and looked at me with cold, menacing eyes, "you don't know me at all."
He studied me for a second before stomping out of the ball room. Now I'm regretting saying yes.
I looked at the ex-king and bowed, "sorry for the scene, please continue with what you were doing."
I walked out of the ball room and searched for my room. After what seemed like hours I finally made my way back.
When I got to my room I automatically crashed on my bed.
The next few days were boring and tiring. I woke up, got dressed, ate, went to a meeting about rouge witches and vampires, ate, relaxed, ate, and then went to bed. During that entire week I only saw Dexter when we had the meetings. Other than that he avoided me like the plague, as did I. One of the nights I researched the soul mating laws about royals and found some interesting news.
I found out that two royals who own the throne are not allowed to be together because you cant unite to kingdoms together and a queen or king cannot just leave his or her throne. So basically me and Dexter cant be together.
