Seventh letter! ㅇ is for NOthiNG, because at the beginning of a syllable it holds NO sound and at the end it makes a soft NG sound, like the one in annyeong! (안녕, which means hello/goodbye)
ㅇ is a consonant, yeah, but for most of rules it's not considered one. Actually, it's more of a placeholder for other consonants, so every word that begins with a vowel like arasseo (알았어 which means "okay"), oneul (오늘 which means today), and ireum (이름 which is the casual word for name). The NG is pretty soft!! Not like joining ㄴ and ㄱ. It's just really soft and beautiful <3 like in eongdeongi (엉덩이 which means butt) or meongcheonghada (멍청하다, which is the unconjugated verb form of "to be stupid")
