(Y/N)'s POV
I woke up and headed to New Meteli. I just needed to be anywhere but here. I still had a house there that Alexia helped me get. Another reason why she's more awesome than me. For most people, it would take them two days to reach Meteli on foot. For my little group, it only would take a few hours. Hazel has a thing for shortcuts. I headed alone to Meteli, wearing my black cloak and having my sword close in reach. When I finally reached New Meteli, I unlocked my house and went inside. It was the same way I remembered it, even with our random stuff scattered around the room. I shoved everything into a closet and changed into a tank top and shorts. Then, I went to sleep.

Laurance's POV
"Laurance, you can stay here. This was (Y/N)'s old place and it's not in use at the moment," Cadenza said, unlocking the front door. The memories of her just came rushing back. I shook it off and went inside. Cadenza tossed me the keys and closed the door. I looked around and opened a closet, and a wave of random junk came flooding out. What? I shoved everything back in the closet and dusted myself off. Then, I heard footsteps creep down the stairs and then I blacked out.
(Y/N)'s POV
I woke up in the middle of the night to the sound of muffled talking. I crept out of bed and saw Laurance downstairs in a tsunami of me, Hazel, and Alexia's random junk. He threw all of it back into the closet and dusted himself off. Before he could see me, I knocked him out. I quickly gathered all my stuff and put it in Alexia's room. Then, I dragged Laurance into my room and went back to Alexia's. There, I fell asleep.

I woke up to a dark presence. Crud. I slept in.
Ooh~ Shadow Souls! Let's transform!
NO!
My Irene, someday you'll listen to me.
I better not...
I climbed out the window to the back of the house and started to fight off the Shadow Souls. I ran into the forest to look for more or better yet the portal. I could feel myself starting to transform and the little red particles danced around my body. Then, I spotted a familiar face.
"Vincent!" I ran up to him.
"(Y/N)!"
"Have you seen the portal yet?"
"No, I was just looking for it."
"Come on, we have to hurry," I said, bolting off into the forest. I spotted the portal and Lord Aphmau was fighting off more Shadow Souls.
"Vincent, there," I pointed. He drew his sword and went to help fight. I ran back to Meteli, looking for more to fight off. I killed some more and snuck back into my house.Laurance's POV
I killed another Shadow Soul and looked around. I saw a mysterious figure run into (Y/N)'s house, and go in. I was about to go after it when I saw Cloud running into Cadenza's house. I followed, forgetting about the person. There wasn't anything in the house that was worth stealing anyways. They laid Cadenza upstairs and Katelyn gave us an update on the situation.
"Emmalyn and Aerith are healing Cadenza and claim she'll be fine by morning," she said.
"Good. Now, Vincent, Laurance," Zack said looking at me and Vincent.
"I need answers now. What exactly were those accused fiends that attacked the village?"
"First off," I started. "I want to know how the heck you know about Shadow Souls Vincent... the only people who know that name are well studied scholars and..." my voice trailed off.
"Shadow Knights. Yes, I am one of them and I can tell you are as well," Vincent said. We that wasn't sketchy at all. Note the sarcasm.
"I knew there was something off about you, I didn't want to say anything in front of Cadenza," I said in return.
"Calm down. He's managed to gain full control of himself and hasn't caused any issue since I've known him," Zack said, trying to keep the peace. It still wasn't right though. He had red eyes.
"Explain the red eyes..." I said, slightly wearily. Zack was silent.
"I killed my previous Lord to obtain these long before you were born," Vincent said.
"Vincent... you don't have to talk about it," Zack said to him.
"The only way a Shadow Knight can have those eyes is if he killed the one he cared for the most. In Guards' cases it would be the Lords we protect," I said.
"I have my immortality. I'm not ashamed to say that. The Lord I killed to get it deserved it. He was a horrible person to his people and killed many innocent women and children. You best know your place before you start talking you premature Shadow Knight," he said with a slight smirk.
~Flashback~
"Hey," I heard (Y/N) say. I turned around to see her. Her bronze armour shimmered in the golden sunlight pouring from the window.
"Hey (N/N)," I said, giving her a bit of a smirk.
"Premature," she mumbled just loud enough for me to hear. She had a small, childish smile on her face.
"You said you wouldn't call me that!" I said, playfully annoyed.
"Well, I lied," she said with a cute smile on her face. She sat down next to me, her perfect, (H/C) hair blowing gently in the soft breeze. The warm sunlight of the morning shone on her face, giving her a golden glow.
~End of Flashback~
(Y/N)... With that, I charged at Vincent. Our swords clashed.
"Don't test me... I'll rip you to shreds... I know exactly the kind of scum you are. I also know you made a move on my Lady," I said.
"If she's your woman then where's her wedding ring? I don't see one." he said with a glint of evil in his smirk. It's so hard being madly in love with two women who don't even know each other. Wait, am I in love with (Y/N)?
I'd say you are!
Oh no, not you!
Surprise! I'm back!
Why me?
"She's free game..." Vincent said, breaking me away from my thoughts. "YOU PREMATURE SHADOW KNIGHT!"
"STOP CALLING ME THA--" I was interrupted by Zack.
"ENOUGH. LAURANCE. OUTSIDE," Zack scolded.
"WHAT!?" I yelled. Aphmau and Katelyn were encouraging me to go outside to take a breather and I eventually did. Zack and Katelyn came and he explained the situation with Vincent. There was still something off about this whole situation, like they were hiding something, or someone. Maybe there was another Shadow Knight in the village? I decided to go back to the house to think.
