Quick, before you read, this has to be one of my favorite scenes in The Walking Dead. That sunrise was so pretty and that scene was just fantastically done and yeh I'll stop xD on to the story.
Weeks had passed since your little chat with Mikey and you were slowly growing close to everyone within the Alexandria safe zone.
You'd help Olivia out on the weekends, sorting cans and placing guns into their specified bins. It was fun and Olivia knew how to make time fly by.
Once she grabbed a handful of celery sticks, snapped those green babies in half and jabbed them straight into her sharp canines. She looked like a walrus and she spent the whole day like that; talking in this odd, but funny voice and making terrible can food puns.
She was quite the comedian around you but reserved around others, but it didn't bother you, it just meant more puns about baked beans for you.
On weekdays you'd spend time with Jessie, Sam, Enid, and Reg. Jessie would teach you all the tips and tricks of a hairstylist; how to layer, thin hair and how to do the difficult A-line hairstyle. It was fun, to say the least, but when she wasn't talking about hair she was building her owl. It was this massive statue located in the back of her garage made out of random junk; with the of all four of you, you almost had it finished.
Enid and Sam were another story, not a lame sappy story, but an adventurous happy one. After helping out with Jessie you'd sneak off with Enid. The two of you would run around the woods, gossip, climb trees and braid hair; she was practically your best friend and you'd even have competitions to see who could take the walker down faster. With Sam, however, you stayed inside; you'd play hours of hide and seek and spend what seemed like decades, drawing. His favorite was the Transformers coloring book and it was always cool how knowledged he was with those little transforming cars.
Reg, on the other hand, was like your teacher. When you weren't with the other three you were with him, learning how to build buildings, walls, and communities. It was mind blowing, all the stuff he knew, but you absorbed it all like a sponge. Reg even taught you how to do a professional blueprint and even let you come into the Monroe family home to practice.
Withing just seventeen days you had more skills than you could have ever imagined and you had the sheltered Alexandrians to thank for that, but the award for teaching went to Aaron and Eric. There was no just weekends or weekdays with them, you were with them every day. The three of you would cook up scrumptious meals from old, worn out cookbooks. You'd chase each other around the kitchen, singing into wooden spoons and it was like deja vu. The things you did with the two adorable men were all too similar to the things you did with your mother before the shit hit the fan. You said no one could replace her, no one could recreate those memories, but Aaron and Eric did and you were thankful for that.
It was finally your eighteenth day within the safe community and you weren't sure what the day had in store for you, but you had an idea. As you tossed and turned in your cloud like bed you heard items being thrown into a duffle bag. The noise was coming from the couple's room and you knew that could only mean one thing. They were heading out to recruit.
Letting the corners of your mouth tug upwards into a smile, you threw the fuzzy blanket off your body and rolled off the bed. With a loud thud sounding off you jump to your feet and bolt over towards their room, creaking the door open and crossing your arms over your chest.
"Sooo can I come?" You questioned as both men jumped, quickly trying to hide the bag holding all the cool outdoorsy stuff.
"(Y/N), I'm not so sure if that's a good idea," Aaron stated, pointing towards your abdomen as you let out a soft chuckle. Aaron still remembered that old wound from Gareth's men, but it's not like you were always getting injured. You were out there this whole time, you knew how to fend for yourself, but Aaron wasn't so sure.
"I think it is, I know how to use a gun and I can help you recruit." you beamed, skipping over to their California king bed and plopping down. Aaron remained quiet and stared at Eric like he was the only one who could give the okay.
"I think she should come." Eric finally said, throwing his flare gun into a bag of his own while you felt excitement begin to form in the very pit of your stomach.
With a final nod of Aaron's head, you practically jumped off the bed, dopamine-releasing like bees out of a cage. You weren't sure what to do so you bounced off the walls, smiling like a doofus till you reached your room. You gathered everything you thought you'd need, shoving it all into your old bag before you flew down the stairs like a person jacked up on energy drinks.
--
After waiting for what seemed like hours you were finally back in Aaron and Eric's car. They were whispering to one another about a group miles from here. They were large by Aarons description and knew how to fight, but they were struggling.
Aaron admitted to watching them for the past two days, he said they were dangerously low on water, food, and ammo, but that they'd make a great addition to the Alexandria safe zone.
Letting curiosity get the best of you, you cleared your throat and propped your elbows up on the center console.
"Is that who we're recruiting today?" You inquired, the car coming to an abrupt stop as Eric threw his water back into his bag and slipped out of the cool car.
"Yeah, the two of you, I'm gonna resume the search for your old group." Eric softly said, walking over to his vehicle and driving off. It warmed your heart, knowing they hadn't given up, but you couldn't shake the excitement from recruiting.
You had really improved on your social skills and you knew they'd be put to the test today, you'd have to convince this large group to come back and you knew just the way.
Keeping your genius plan to yourself, you let yourself out of the claustrophobic car, taking in the sweet smell of the Virginia woods. The cool breeze was kissing your already reddened cheeks and the warm morning sun was already beating down on you, but rather than complaining you turned and shot Aaron a smile.
"Feels nice doesn't it? We gotta head that way, the group should still be in that barn." Aaron explained, pointing over to the other side of the thick Virginia woods when you inwardly cringed.
Barn?
The last time you were around a barn it was filled with nothing but those flesh eating psychos. It went into flames, signified loss and pain and after that, you never wanted to look at another barn again. You remembered all those cold nights you spent within the barn after the fire died. How you tried to survive day by day in it, awaiting the return of your group.
Sighing quietly to yourself you reluctantly follow Aaron around the woods, jumping over prickly brush like an amateur parcore student till you hit a clearing. It was no later than seven when you hit it and the way the morning sun looked, shining on all the flowers like they were the star of today's show it was nothing short of extraordinary, but something else stood out in the clearing.
On top of a log, staring at a small pink box that played creepy music were two girls. Maggie and Sasha. They were completely oblivious to your presence and it was hard to contain your happiness. You wanted to run up to them, engulf them in the warmest of hugs, but you knew if you startled them like that Aaron would be dead within the blink of an eye.

Part 15, what do y'all think?
I was thinking of changing all the part names, I know some people can't read roman numerals so should I keep it or change it?
Also, I'm taking requests for this story, so if you want me to add something, just for you, let me know by commenting or messaging me!
