(Another Part, what? It's about time!)

Steam seeped out from underneath the shower door, filling up the small room and allowing thick clouds of fog to dance around items in the bathroom till it finally met its final destination, the mirror.

The steam slowly engulfed the mirror, leaving it a cloudy grey as Carl left out a soft chuckle and moved his finger across the wet glass. Carefully, he drew a heart and a smiley face, occasionally taking a few steps back to ensure he had done it right. It was a sight to see, your man covered in a thick layer of dirt, his hair curling up at the ends due to the humidity while he drew on the mirror like a five-year-old.

"You having fun over there?" You had questioned with while grabbing small bottles of shampoo and body wash from the cabinet adjacent to the shower. You meticulously set them up on the ledge and peeped out from behind the glass shower door, your wet hair stuck to your face as you flashed Carl a loving smile.

"Wanted you to have something to look at every time you shower." He had beamed out with while stepping away from the mirror and yanking his brown socks off, socks which were once white.

"Ew, gross, you're so dirty and I'm almost certain everyone can smell you from a mile away," You exclaimed while letting out a soft giggle and hiding behind the glass door. Carefully you pumped some shampoo into the palm of your hand, dropping most of it when Carl entered the shower and snaked his arms around your waist. He took his time to feel every inch of your dampened skin and when his lips came in contact with your back you let out a squeak.

"You're gonna share a room with me right," Carl had softly asked, his body right up against you as you kept your eyes locked onto the fallen shampoo bottle. You thought about his question hard, Carl was your love, yes, but Aaron and Eric, they were like family too and you already had a room with them. You felt divided amongst two groups that both meant the world to you and when you noticed you had taken steps away from Carl without thought, you felt your heart crumble a bit. Where was that quick spark you felt shortly after doing the do?

"I well, I already have a room in Aarons house, They're family too and--" You stopped when you noticed the look on Carls' face. He seemed a tad upset, the way his lips contorted into a soft frown and the way his brows furrowed when he was thinking hard. You weren't sure what else to say and the only noise between the two of you was the soft pitter-patter of water falling onto the tile.

You allowed your eyes to steal one last glance of the shower, the perfectly chiseled pale tile that surrounded the two of you and the glass doors which had small flowers engraved around the perimeter. It was such a pretty shower, one you could have shared with Carl, but once again you spoke without thinking of the consequences.

"Do we even matter to you anymore? Do I? Is that why you had to run away from that Mike kid? Cause you like him?" Carl began to interrogate, his hands balling into fists while he let the water caress his back, a stream of dirt and other substances gathering around the shower drain. "I thought we were ok, I've had you taken away from me so many times, now we're ok for an hour and then this, this happens." Carl was beginning to get choked up but when you moved to place your hand on his cheek he almost instantly seemed to calm down.

You really had the effect on him.

"Stop thinking like that please, I still love you, Y'all are still my family, nothing has changed, they're just starting to get better and we just have to go through the motions, I-I missed you so much," You forced yourself to say while grabbing yet another bottle and squirting the substance directly onto the younger Grimes hair. Slowly, you massaged it into his hair, watching as all the dirt disappeared, he was looking like a new man and as you washed the months of substances away, you washed away memories and hope.

"You already smell a thousand time better," You stated with a forced smile and watched as he rested his head against your shoulder, he was about as clean as he'd get with all these emotions circling around the two of you so with a soft sigh you reached to shut the water off, listening to the soft creaks of the piping while you reached for the nearest towel. The smell of honeycomb and vanilla filled your senses as it brought you back to the smell of the houses in this bustling safe zone, but more importantly, it brought you back to the room where you met Mikey and his posse. That loud smell which masked the smell of old pizza and dirty clothes.

Suddenly, an idea popped into your head. The relationship was tense on and off right now, but maybe if Carl got the chance to meet the people you hung out with every now and then, then maybe, just maybe things would be better for sure this time. Whilst you allowed Carl to dry off and clothe himself, you mindlessly picked up things in the bathroom until Carl broke your train of thought.

"I want us to be good for the rest of the day, no more of what just happened, is that ok?" He carefully asked while you felt your eyes light up.

"Yeah and I know what we should do, just bear with me. Please."

A/N

I wanted to show how some relationships aren't sunshine and rainbows, how they can be one-sided. Yeah, things started off well but I want to explore a part of them that some people ignore. Yes, they're bi-polar right now, but it is what it is.

I'm working on ANOTHER part right now, this was more of a filler to show that (Y/N) doesn't really know what she wants with Carl now.

I hope yall liked it, I'm sorry if it was a poopy filler but please comment your thoughts! :)
