My knees began to feel even weaker as her eyes burned into mine, and I blinked to try to regain my crumbling composure.

Come on, Sammy, say something! I mentally screamed, my fast pounding heart quickened even further as I searched for words.

“Are you okay?” I blurted out.

Nice.

“What do you mean?” she asked confused, her brows coming together. I took a deep breath as I tried to keep eye contact with her.

“When we, er, fell...did you get hurt?” I asked awkwardly. She smiled shyly and shook her head.

“No, I'm fine. I landed on something rather squishy.” she chuckled nudging my shoulder. I smiled and nudged her back as we laughed, but the silence afterwards was suffocating. A warm breeze wafted through the trees, blowing a strand of her long mahogany hair in her eyes. I caught it, gently tucking it behind her ear. Our eyes connected as I left my hand behind her neck.

A strange feeling over came me as I pulled her close to me, crushing my lips to hers and she kissed me back. I don't how long we were like that, but eventually we pulled apart, gasping for air. We looked at each other, just smiling like idiots.

“I'm glad I was there to catch you.” I whispered. Her smile grew bigger.

“I'm glad I fell.”

“Lost Children! Fall in!” my dad called out, his voice echoing off the trees. My head whipped to the direction it came from and began running towards it, Amanda's hand firmly in mine. Though it had been months since we fell from that tree, we still have a strong relationship. In those months we discovered that I could grow in the mainland too, but I had to concentrate really hard on it. We found out when I tried it one time, and I came back to Neverland after a trip, three inches taller!

Mom almost passed out.

We skidded to a halt as we entered a clearing, the rest of the Lost Children tumbling in from all directions. Mom and Dad were standing in the center, amused looks on their faces as they finished falling into a pile.

“I win!”

“No I was here first!”

“Liar!”

“Who you calling a liar?”

“Come on guys, it was a tie-”

“ Shut up, Angela!”

“No need to get snippy, Oli pop”

“Don't call me that!”

“Make me!”

“Okay I w-”

“QUIET!”

They all silenced when Dad shouted, my mother stifling a laugh. He shook his head, a smile tugging at his lips.

“We're going to visit the fairies real quick, and then we're going over to the Indians. We've been invited to celebrate the Golden Sun Equinox with them, so come on.” he said, but the last part was drowned out as everyone one cheered excitedly. He rolled his eyes and took my mother's hand, walking towards a trail and we followed obediently behind them.My hand and Amanda's swung between us as we trailed in the back, occasionally laughing at whatever game the other children were playing.
