So today I was meeting Surmise's family for the first time. Let's just say I'm not very excited. It was like a small cookout thing, nothing major.

Surmise's parents came about 20 minutes late. Elegance had already eaten majority of the food but Sinewy ordered the servants to bring some more. Vex, the fem, and Surmise's mother was the most annoying person I've ever met. Her voice made me want to jump into a lake of bleach. Clod, the stud, was quite doltish. Sinewy couldn't even understand the way she was talking. Surmise had to have been adopted because there just isn't anyway she could be biologically related to this people.

"Well, Baroness you're a very beautiful young lady! I mean really. You're even more beautiful in person. I'm so happy that King Sinewy chose our daughter to marry." Vex said in her irritating, high pitched voice.

I smiled at her falsely then gazed over at Demure who just awkwardly listened. I know she hated this just as much as I did.

"She's a wonderful person as well." Surmise grinned and grabbed my hand.

I wanted to yell "GET THE HELL OFF ME" so bad but I kept my cool.

"Why thank you." I smiled.

Demure began coughing. Oh boy, I hope she doesn't blow up at this table.

"May I be excused?"

"Of course sweetie. Still gotta touch of that cold?" Delightful asked with concern.

"Yes ma'am. I apologize. It was nice meeting you guys."

"Likewise dear." Vex nodded and grinned.

"Huh?! Meaty meat?? Oh meat? No. No. I'm a vegetarian." Clod said, looking around as if she was lost.

You guys see how dumb she is? These people will not become my in laws.

Demure got from the table and went back inside the palace.

"I hope she gets over that cold soon." Sinewy said, watching her leave.

"Me too." I said with a sigh, but I knew exactly what was wrong.

"You're really nice." Surmise said with a smile.

We were walking the streets of Virbrant Hues, a town not too far from the palace. Sinewy insisted on us taking a walk together. Ugh.

"Thanks. You're nice too."

"Can I ask you a question?"

"Sure. Ask away..."

"How do you feel about me? I know this marriage is new and all but how do you honestly feel?? I know you've been cordial about everything but I feel like you're not feeling this."

She's right, I'm not feeling it.

"You're a nice person, but you're not my type." I said boldly.

I mean, I wasn't going to lie. She did ask. Right?

"Wooh!! Great!!" She cheered, doing a weird little dance with it.

"What the honest hell??"

"Oh I'm sorry, but I feel the same. You're not my type either. The only reason why my parents want me to marry you is so they don't have to live in poverty. They want money and publicity." She admitted.

Well I'll be shit, damn, and fuck!

"I've also noticed something about you." She continued.

"What?"

"The way you look at Demure. You really like her? Huh?"

"How did you know?" My heart instantly dropped. I hope she doesn't tell anyone.

"How she acts everytime we're together. She looks hurt, and don't worry I won't tell anyone. I honestly think the rule about stud on stud relationships are stupid. I never cared too much for those labels."

"That's one thing we agree on." I chuckled.

"There's something else I know that I think you should know... I don't know if I should tell you this now or wait."

"What is it?"

These surprises just keep coming at me. What could she possibly know?

"I don't want it to ruin thing between you and Demure."

"Ruin things between me and Demure? Surmise, you have to tell me now."

"I can't, but you'll know the truth soon. I gotta go B, I'll text you maybe." She quickly ran off.

I was left standing there alone. Thinking. Thinking about what she wants to tell me. Why was she afraid to?

"Go Elegance!! Go!" I yelled as she danced on stage.

She was in a school play and she had the dancing lead. Dancing is one of her passions.

This was the first time I been to a play that was showcased outside. It was hot as hell.

She did her little leaps and flips. My little sister was annoying, but I loved her and always supported her.

"She's too cute." Demure said with a chuckled.

I told her about the conversation with Surmise and she warmed back up to me. I didn't tell her about the secret she knows because she said something about it possibly ruining things between me and Demure.

Besides that, things were actually going good today. I enjoyed being around people for once. The sky was a pastel purple and mint green. Sinewy was out doing her kingly duties so I didn't have to her bothered with her.

Elegance did kept twirling around in circles like a beautiful little ballerina then suddenly she stopped and I heard something crack and a loud scream.

"Ahhhh!! Mother!!" Elegance screamed more and fell down, grabbing her ankle.

"Oh no!! She's broken her ankle!" Demure shouted.

Delightful gasped then ran up to the stage to her aide. Demure and I followed. Just when things were going so well.

"It's okay. It's okay. I'm here." Delightful gently picked her up and ran backstage.

"...If Sinewy didn't get rid of the healers. There wouldn't be such a worry." I mumbled to myself.

"Huh?" Demure said, looking at me.

"Oh nothing."

She shrugged then strolled to the back. I shook my head and paced off by myself. A sudden rush of sadness came over me when thinking about The Healers.

As people rushed to leave, I stood against a fanta soda tree and watched. Everything seem normal until something stood out to me. A girl, around my age. She looked quite familiar.

The girl gazed around to see if anyone was looking. She couldn't see me because I wasn't in her range. Her eyes sparkled like pure diamonds and her hair was a platinum sliver and lavender. My eyes traveled down to her hand and I noticed her finger tips were glowing.

"It can't be...." I said to myself.

The girl held up her hand under her long black jacket and pointed it toward the backstage. White light instantly came from her hand and once she was finished, it disappear.

She jetted away from the scene before anyone else could notice. Running towards me, my heart fell to my feet when I realized who she was. It's her...

I ran towards her and she bumped into me. We both fell on the ground.

The hood came off her head again and I could fully see her face; up close and personal.

"....Astral?" I said, gazing at her.

It's been so long. Too long, but I thought that her kind was dead.

"...Baroness." She replied, meeting my gazed.

She still had those same diamond eyes that I fell in love with when I was in middle school. I missed her.

Before I could say another word, she got up and ran away as fast as she could. Suddenly, lavender wings broke out of her jacket and she flew up into the air.

Was this the secret Surmise wanted to tell me?
