"How will things be once you marry her?" Demure asked, holding my hand as we paced through the garden.
"I'm hoping that they'll be the same." I replied, gazing at her.
Her hazel eyes were now dark brown. She told me that sometimes her eyes changed colors according to her mood.
"How? You'll be around Surmise more. We barely spend time with eachother now."
I know that she's worried, but once she sees what's going to happen at this wedding. Her worries will be over.
"If you just trust me on this. Things will get better soon." I moved her hair out of her face and placed a kiss on her lips.
She smiled then kissed me back.
"BARONESS!!" I heard Elegance call my name out and I ran to the front of the castle with Demure.
"What's wrong?" I asked, putting my hands in music pockets.
"You have wedding rehearsals today. They need you in the backyard Pronto!" She said, pulling me inside.
Demure sighed then rolled her eyes. One minute, her and Baroness was getting back on track then the next they were being pulled away from eachother.
She trotted away from the palace and ventured out alone.
This was the first time she actually went out in town without Baroness being with her.
As she walked, she heard a familiar voice call her name. She didn't pay attention to it at first because she thought maybe her mind was playing tricks on her.
"Demure!! I know you hear me!!" The voice said, getting closer to her.
She finally stopped in her tracks then turned around to see who it was.
"Jocose?!" Demure said as her eyes widen.
"At your service." Jocose winked and hugged her tightly.
"I missed you!! When did you get here?" Demure asked, hugging her back.
Jocose pulled away from the hug and held Demure's hands.
"I've been here for about two years now. I came here on my own. I know my parents on Earth probably think I'm missing but I'm far from that. How long have you been here?"
"A few months. I live with Baroness."
"Wait? You live with the royal family? Where the hell I been at?"
"Who knows...man, I thought I'd never see you again. I came him because my parents kicked me out once I told them I was a lesbian."
"Ah shit, they should've known that cause you dress like a whole ass nigga."
Demure giggled. Jocose was her bestfriend when they were back on Earth. One day, she went missing and the whole town was looking for her. Demure thought that she was dead.
They also dated for a short time but it wasn't anything too serious. Jocose nickname was Jojo but Demure always called her by her real name. She had long braids and her body was kind of buff. Her were dark brown and she had a tattoo of ocean waves on her right arm.
"You look like a whole ass nigga." Demure replied, gently punching her arm.
"Thank you. I try." Jocose said with a chuckle.
"What're you up to?" Demure asked as she started to walk with her.
"Nothin much. I just came from the gym. I was heading back home until I saw a familiar face walking around like she was so sad."
"I was not looking sad!" Demure laughed.
"Yeah you were. Everything alright?"
"Yeah everything is good."
"Don't be lyin now."
"I'm good Jo...damn."
"You know you're like my bestfriend. I'll go through hell and back for you."
Demure nodded.
"You doin' anything else besides walking around like you depressed??"
"Nope. Why?"
"You can chill at my place. We ain't too far from it."
"Alright. I'll go." Demure smiled.
She was happy to finally have a friend around since Baroness was always busy. Even though B said things wouldn't change between them, she knew that they would. B was just denial.

"Anybody seen Demure? I've been looking for her all day." I said, pacing through the palace."I haven't seen her. I guess she'll be home soon." Delightful said, making dinner.
Just then, Demure walked in with a huge smile on her face.
"Demure! I've been looking all over for you. Where have you been??" I asked, going over to her.
"Oh, I went out for a walk then I caught up with an old friend. I'm sorry." She said with a shrug.
"Old friend? You know someone here?"
She nodded.
"My bestfriend from Earth is here. Her name's Jocose. I didn't know she was here until she saw me walking."
"Ohhhh. Well, you wanna watch a movie together or something? I'm done with the rehearsals."
Suddenly, Demure's phone started to ring and she answered it.
"Jocose!! No, I'm not busy. What's up??" Demure said, pacing upstairs to her room.
I sighed. I guess it's good that she's found a friend since I'm always busy. It's not my fault, but then again it is.
She probably thinks I don't care but I do. It's just that I have a lot of things to handle. Keeping Astral from Sinewy, marrying Surmise, ruining the wedding, and make sure that everyone is safe.
I pulled my braids up into a bun and sat at the kitchen table.
"You're slowly losing her." Delightful said, putting food on the table.
"What?"
"You heard me. You're slowly losing her. I think it's time that you tell Sinewy before the wedding."
"Are you serious?"
"Yes, I'm serious. Do you want to lose Demure to her bestfriend? You don't spend much time with her because of this wedding business. I can already see you losing her and becoming a hermit once again. You're an adult now, you can do want you but I really think you should go ahead and let it out."
I started to think about what she was saying and it was true. I was never alone with Demure that often anymore. We started getting back to how we used to be then I was swept away from her again. Since Astral's been back living in my room, I haven't spent much time with her at night. I rarely go into her room.
Delightful was right. I'm losing her and I don't want to. Sinewy will probably hate me but I don't care. The whole planet is sick of her. It's time that I do something. The wait is over. Tomorrow I'm telling Sinewy how I feel about Demure. Wish me luck.
