“Kaytee,” his said, concern in his voice, “you know what Garret said. You need to lay off the healing for a few months. You haven't been feeling well, and it's because of all the dust your using when you heal. You almost fainted last time.” he walked over, grabbing my hands, and leaning down to look me in the eyes.
“I know, but I just want to go this one time. Please? We weren't able to see as many kids as I wanted to last time, and I wanted to stop by the newborn babies again. Please, Peter?” I pleaded, giving my best puppy dog look and I could already see him breaking. He sighed, looking down at the ground and nodding.
“Fine, we can go, but if you're feeling even the slightest bit sick you have to tell me-”
“Yay! Thank you Peter!” I cheered, kissing him quickly before turning back to the table. I reached over to grab my ring, but empty table met my fingers instead. I frowned, bending down and looking on the floor, around the table, even under the platter, but my ring was no where to be found.
“Peter, have you seen my ring? I swear I put it right here...” I trailed off my hand resting on the spot where I always place my ring.
“Nope, haven't seen it, babe. I'm sure it'll turn up though, come on, the children will be up any minute now.” he said, grabbing my hand pulling me out the door.

“Awe! Oh Peter, look at all their little toes! That one's smiling at you, she's so cute! Do you remember when Sammy was that tiny? Look at how curly that one's hair is!” I cooed at the little babies, Peter smiling beside me as I gushed. We had decided to go ahead and look at the babies first incase I didn't feel good after I healed.
“Kaytee look, the little girl here has the same color eyes as you.” he said, beckoning me over as he peered down at a baby wrapped in pink blankets. Sure enough she had my eyes, staring intently at us with curiosity. I giggled, pressing my hand against the glass that kept her separated from us.
“She's gonna be a heartbreaker for sure.” I laughed, pulling Peter beside me as we exited the newborn wing. Winding through the large white tiled hallways, we entered the child-ward, the sterile hospital air mixing with the sweet smell of children I recognized.

“Okay Peter, I don't think I can heal any more.” I whispered as I leaned against him, my head pounding from the last healing I did. He kissed my forehead, rubbing my shoulder as he supported most of my weight.
“Alright, Kaytee, that's fine. We'll go soon, think you can help Johanna get dressed before we leave?” he asked turning to the little girl I just healed who was staring at her newly grown fiery red hair in awe. She was an orphan and all too willing for adventure. She practically begged us to take her to Neverland. I nodded, standing up onto my feet as he stepped out of the room. I helped her shakily slip into some regular clothes that had been placed in a drawer beside the bed.
“Do you want me to braid your hair real quick? Sometimes in can be distracting when you fly for the first time.” I said, running my fingers gently across her soft hair and she nodded, her green eyes twinkling with excitement. I smiled, working my fingers through her hair, securing a spare scrunchy on the bottom to keep it in place.
“There we go. All set, Johanna?” I asked the little red head and she squealed in reply, making me laugh as I grabbed her hand. Stepping out of the room, I saw Peter standing there, but he wasn't alone. A girl, maybe sixteen, was standing there in a nurse's out fit, twirling a strand of her bleached hair between her fingers, her tacky blue eyes running up and down his body.
She trailed a finger flirtingly down his arm as she said something, batting her lashes, but to my joy, Peter took a step back. Walking up, and grabbing Peter's hand in mine, his eyes filled with relief when he saw me. I turned to the girl, a fake smile plastered on my face as I looked at her judging gaze.
