WM20 Change Series #3 May 27, 2017

Start from the beginning

He made you for that purpose.

Every man, woman and child on this earth who has the Spirit of Jesus Chtist in them can and will be used powerfully by God, if they seek their calling in faith. If you believe God gave you a gift of playing music, prayerfully practice that instrument until you're ready to worship for Him at church or publish a song. If you are good at _____, prayerfully improve on that thing, practicing it and asking God to use it, until He can use you to do an amazing thing with it.

Get creative!

Are you good at sports? Bring a basketball to the nearby court and start making friends with whoever you can find that will play with you. You'll be amazed by how much you can help someone just by giving them a good time and being a positive influence!

Are you fascinated by other cultures? Do you find yourself googling other countries? Learn a foreign language or your local sign language, and maybe you'll find yourself in a unique opportunity to witness to someone you couldn't otherwise talk to!

You probably couldn't ever imagine someone using a video game for God. But I remember a little PS2 game called the Bible game, intertwining Bible stories and mini-games beautifully. I'd say some believer needs to make a reboot.

Most people wouldn't really consider hunting a ministry or a thing related to God. It's just a sport and a way to get some good food.

But when my home West Virginia had a massive statewide flood that left entire neighborhoods and communities destitute and even homeless, hunters from different churches were able to bag some game to feed those who lost everything. God used a sport to feed the destitute and help to get them back on their feet!

My buddy at church Gentry, and his friend Emmy LOVE RAP. It's Gentry's absolute favorite thing, and he just sold at least a hundred of his first mixtapes at our state youth convention a while back. He introduced me to every christian rapper I've ever heard of. I hated rap before he introduced me to NF and Social Club Misfits.

But there's something very different about his rap. Youtube search "Gfitzmusic GFM" when you have the chance. I actually have one song up on the top of this chapter. His rap talks about searching for your calling and what it means to be called by God. "Sleepless Nights" talks about struggling to overcome guilt, pain, and doubt that God is the loving chainbreaker He says He is!
The chorus goes,

"You have to choose your destiny,
God loves you and He sees your needs,
He's waiting for you to bend your knees,
I know it seems dark but He will never leave."

Those words hit me more than so many sermons I've listened to. But Gentry didn't make this standing on a pulpit. He took what he had a God-given passion for and used it for ministry.

A common theme that I've seen that the devil has loved to use is that he tries to convince us that we can't accomplish the dreams God made for us because of this or that. "Remember that sin you did last week/month/year? God will NEVER USE someone who did that."
"You just aren't spiritual enough. Look at that person dancing and worshipping more fervently. Look at those people who talk about spiritual stuff you can't begin to understand yet. You can't because you aren't spiritual enough."
"You're not a good enough speaker to do this, or a good enough singer to do that, or a good enough _____ to do that."
"Real ministries are preaching, being a missionary, and leading worship. You're God-given abilities are a joke."

He is terrified, he is trembling and darn near ready to pee himself thinking about what God can do through YOU. If you would just take a step in faith, which, despite what the devil tries to say to confuse you, is SIMPLY the knowledge that what God said is true, you can change people's lives and move mountains.

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Acts 1:8 KJV

He TOLD US HE WOULD USE US. We recieve POWER in the Holy Ghost. When are we going to step up and say, "I know Jesus will use me."? When are we going to be sick and tired of being dull to the agony and hopeless pain this world is going through, and use everything we have for His kingdom to fight back? When are we going to kill the works of the devils that try to rip apart those around us, and stop turning our heads in fear?

Name one thing that you've let the devil stop you with that's a rational fear. Please, try to find one. His only power is to try to convince us not to live meaningfully using stupid reasoning with plenty of holes in his logic.

The biggest hole being: My God is bigger than _____, stronger than____, and even if I can't, He can.

Stop thinking, "What can God use." Start thinking, "WHAT CAN'T GOD USE."

God made you for a purpose. He made you to change the world.

Your Mission: Rebuke the devil that tries to tell you "you can't" in Jesus Christ's name. You can do anything in the anointing of the Holy Ghost of Jesus. You can do anything. You can lead those lost friends and family members to Jesus Christ. You can reverse the drugs, depression, and pain in your communities and nations.

I remember one time earlier in this year, Hannah, the girl who led me to church, prophesied (meaning God spoke directly through her), reminding us that we were the Lord army. Let's stop being afraid of devils who have no power but false words, and let's wave our banner of healing, power, and broken chains proudly on the highest mountain.
We are God's children. We are more than Conquerors of the World. We are the Resistance to the evil in this world. Let's get pumped. Let's root in and saddle up, because we have a battle. And no Goliath is going to intimidate us or taunt us. Grab your sling, grab your stones, and get ready to fight for the victory God's already planned for you millenia ago.

Pray that God removes your inhibitions, your fears, and your burn-out. The enemy knows that once you understand who you are in God, you will change the world.

Do you?
