Holy Ghost Series: Repentance
Ok guys, so I felt led to talk about the Holy Ghost. I think I'm going to do a series on it. I've been wondering how to use PC to lead people to God for a long time. And part of it has been that I myself have been naive about the Holy Ghost. This has been something I've been passionate about for a really long time, and I'm excited to finally have some direction to it!
So.. the Holy Ghost is an awesome thing to have. So many churches don't really know what it's like. Many people think they have the Holy Ghost, and don't really know what it's like!
You see, alot of people make the reasonable mistake of thinking that because they gave their hearts to God, they have the Holy Ghost. Many people even feel the Spirit work on them after doing so, and I won't deny it! The truth is, they recieved the "Holy" but didn't get the "Ghost"!
And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink...
...And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,
Acts 9:9, 11 KJVThe Bible suggests that Paul recieved a change in heart before the Holy Ghost! He was suddenly praying to the True God instead of pharisee prayers, he may have been fasting.. but he doesn't have the Holy Ghost yet, because in the later verses in the chapter, Ananias touches him and he recieves the Holy Ghost! Another example is Cornelius in Acts 10, a Roman who feared God and obeyed his commands, but didn't yet have the Holy Ghost!
Now the Holy Ghost has a certain way of showing itself so you know it's the real deal.. when people get filled with the Holy Ghost, something amazing happens. They're praying, they're worshipping, and they start to hear something in their minds. Like a language they don't know, and this beautiful amazing feeling comes over them! They might be crying, but it's not sadness or pain! They are getting a sample of the Greatest Love ever known. And then they open their mouths, and it happens. They speak in a language that only God speaks. It's called speaking in tongues!
