Chaos Vampire (Shadow X Reader)

(Shadow's P.O.V.)

    "Why were you out that night you found me?" Her (E/C) eyes seem to look off for a brief moment before returning to face me. "Huh? Oh... Ummm... Well, I like to go on nightly walks." She's lying to me. From the days I spent here I noticed a telltale sign whenever she lies. Her eyes seem to wander off looking somewhere else and her voice is almost always shaky like she has something to hide. "I don't believe that. Tell me how long did you plan to keep lying to me (Y/N)?" She's silent, her hands shaking as she searches for the right words. Tears begin to prick her eyes as she begins to speak. "I-I'm so sorry..."

(Reader's P.O.V.)

    It's over I'm finished. I'll go to prison for life which means, for me at least, for all eternity. "It was me..." I'm shaking so badly, my wall of lies I used to protect myself is crumbling before my eyes as I tell Shadow why I was really there that night. "It was me who attacked you... There was no other (C/T), only me... I wasn't myself... I... Lost control... The question I was asking you earlier... I was referring to myself. I've been living for years and I still haven't found an answer as to why or how. I'm so sorry I was afraid if I told you you'd lock me away and now that I've told you I'm okay with that." I close my eyes, tears streaming down my face as I wait for him to respond to what I just told him. Nothing but silence fills the air. Until finally a voice breaks through the silence. His. "What are you really? And don't lie about it this time, (Y/N)." "I'm a vampire..." "That's not funny (Y/N)." "I'm not lying! I've been around for quite some time I'm not going to say how long because It's rude to ask a lady her age but I'm much older than a normal person that's all I'll say." "(Y/N), That isn't funny tell me the truth!" "I AM! I WAS THE ONE WHO ATTACKED YOU THAT NIGHT BECAUSE I NEEDED TO FEED!" Dead Silence. Shadow just stares at me wide-eyed. "What do you mean to feed?" "I told you I'm a vampire, I wasn't lying to you. I need chaos energy in order to keep sane, if I don't feed I lose control of my body and become like a monster. I'll attack whomever is nearby and drain them of their blood, drawing out the chaos energy hidden inside." He's not looking at me anymore. "So when you attacked me you hadn't fed in a while is that correct?" I nod. "So you drew chaos energy out of my blood. And came back to your senses. I'm sorry (Y/N) your story sounds like something out of a storybook." "I know it does. I don't expect you to believe anything I just said after all I sound crazy. And I don't just need to feed for sanity's sake I also need to feed to restore my energy. Sleeping doesn't restore the amounts I need anymore. Ever since that day, I've been constantly needing to feed. A whole century passed me by and I watched as things I knew changed, technologies advanced, and people I knew eventually disappearing. It's awful..." He looks me in the eye before speaking again. "I don't know why you're telling me such a farfetched story but I don't find it funny (Y/N). You can't possibly understand that kind of torture. I'm wasting my time trying to pull the truth from you. I'll be gone tomorrow so just leave me be."

(Shadow's P.O.V.)

    I noticed more tears pricked her eyes as she left me in her living room. Her story seemed too unreal to be true. How could she ever know what it's like to live knowing the people you're closest to are gone? I'll try again tomorrow maybe I'll get the truth and not some cruel joke.
