Chaos Vampire (Shadow X Reader)

(Reader's P.O.V.)

"Shadow the Hedgehog, I am here to rescue you." A huge robot enters the room. "A ROBOT! YOU DIDN'T TELL ME THERE WERE GOING TO BE ROBOTS!" Shadow struggles to stand and I help him up. "Hello Omega... Do you still have my spare limiters?" The robot opens a compartment containing two ring-like objects identical to the ones I lost. Then it hits me. "OMEGA IS A ROBOT!" "Please stop shouting. I am here to rescue you." "Shadow, did you know I have a slight fear of robots? There was this one time several blew the library wall down and captured the librarian. I was stuck under toppled shelves until the police showed up. Point is I'm not going with him." I cross my arms as Shadow puts on his limiters. "This one is harmless for the most part. Unless you get on his bad side. Would you rather stay down here with the deathtraps?" "N-No..." "Then let's hurry out of here." Shadow grabs my hand and the robot leads the way out. He leads us back into the woods outside the house. "Shadow I still don't trust him." I point at Omega, who is a few feet in front of me. "He's not that bad once you get to know him. Omega, let Rouge know we're okay." "Understood. Omega calling Rouge, I have rescued Shadow and the (C/T) he's with." A few seconds later I hear Rouge on the other end. "Great job Omega. Bring them to G.U.N. base, I might've found something they need to see."

*A FEW HOURS LATER*

We arrived at G.U.N.'s base and Omega led us to Rouge. "Wait out here with Omega. I'll only be a few minutes." "You want to leave me with him?! No way! I would rather chew my arm off than be in the same room with him. I told you robots terrify me." "It'll be fine. I won't be long and he's not that bad once you get to know him." Shadow leaves me with the metal giant. We stand in silence for a good while until I decide to break it. "So, how did you meet Shadow." "Through a mutual enemy. We were sealed in the same room together. What about you?" "Huh?" "How did you meet Shadow?" "Well it's kinda odd but I sort of attacked him. After I realized what happened I took him to my home and patched him up. I felt bad for what I did. I couldn't control myself." I looked down at the ground as I remembered that day like it was yesterday. "If I had never attacked him, we would've never met and we wouldn't be stuck in Mischief's game. If I could go back in time, I might try to stop myself from meeting him. Might being a strong word. There's a part of me that would be sad if I never met him. Thanks to him I was able to come out of my shell just a little bit and I think in some ways I helped him do the same." I looked over at Omega and gave him a sincere smile. "May I ask who Mischief is?" "Well, I suppose he was the start of all this. Thanks to him, I was cursed with immortality. There's a loneliness in it when everyone you care about disappears and you're stuck watching the world change around you. Mischief is forcing Shadow to play one of his games. He's doing the same thing he did a hundred years ago. He made my dear friend Axel play the game. Mischief said that he'd leave me alone if Axel played. He twisted the words and killed him." Stray tears escape my eyes. "Do not cry... I am sure Shadow will not share your friend's fate. He is the ultimate life form, he will not go down easily." I smiled at him. "Thank you Omega, that means a lot. Maybe you're not so bad after all."
