Maisie's POV
I woke up to the sound of birds chirping on my windowsill. I sat up swiftly and walked over to my dresser.
"Another acorn. Weird." I picked up the small acorn and placed it with my other one. "Two now. Maybe they're from Peter?" I wondered.
"How sweet." I mumbled as I began getting changed into my school uniform, a boring white shirt with a red checkered skirt and long white socks that reached my knees.
I laced up my black leather shoes and packed my bag, making sure to pack my sketchbook and blue pencil case, home to my best pencils.
After a few minutes I was ready to leave. I trudged down the stairs and straight out the door.
Another dreadful school day. At least I had something to look forward to when I got home.
For the first time ever I was taking my precious sketchbook. I never took my sketchbook out of the house for fear of damaging it.
I had a craving to draw today and I knew it wouldn't go away unless I drew.
The walk to school was long but peaceful. Walking to school was always a favourite of mine. I walked alone and took the time to think about anything and everything.
The day was like every other school day. Long and unbearably boring. During the breaks I drew acorns.
I didn't know why but I felt like the acorns had some sort of special meaning.
I took my time getting home, wanting to shorten the time between getting home and seeing Peter again.
