Warriors; Into the Jungle (completed)

Skykit sat under the holly bush, painfully aware that Applefern had her beady eye on her.

I hope that the entire JungleClan isn't as untrusting as this, Skykit thought. She was flinching at every sound, now. Except for the sounds of the jungle. Skykit would never be afraid of them. They were soothing.

A twig snap echoed around the forest, and Orangepaw came into veiw.

"Applefern, Stormstar wants to bring her to camp," he mewed.

Applefern looked surprised, "Really?"

"Yes."

Applefern glared at Skykit and jerked her head, motioning to her that she should follow. "Don't try anything funny, you kit. This isn't a game of moss ball."

"I know." Skykit muttered.

Applefern flicked her tail and the three cats went to the JungleClan camp.

"Skykit, I hope your right about a fair leader." Those was Orangepaw's hissed words.

Skykit flicked her ear as though she was flicking a fly away.

"Come to my den, even you, kit." Stormstar's voice rang out along the walls of the camp.

As they all went up to the den, Skykit began to feel self-conscious under the stares of everyone in the camp.

"Do they always stare?" Skykit whispered to Orangekit.

Orangepaw snorted. "Would you not stare if someone strange came into your camp?"

Skykit ducked her head and walked faster.

Rainkit woke to Featherkit's worried face.

"What is it? I was a whisker length away from that mouse!" Rainkit complained.

Featherkit looked really worried. "Have you seen Skykit? I've been awake for some time, but she's not here!"

Rainkit moaned. "Oh no!"

"What is it?"

"I saw Skykit out of camp with a JungleClan kit. She must have gone back to him!"

Featherkit looked even more worried. "I hope she comes back."

No sooner than a heartbeat after the words were out of her mouth, Skykit came trotting into camp from the dirtplace tunnel.

Featherkit bounded up to her. "Where were you!"

"I'm guessing Rainkit told you?"

"Yes. She did."

Skykit looked calm. "All I wanted was a chance to say goodbye to my friend without someone staring me down." She gave a hard shove to Rainkit.

Rainkit stumbled and growled at Skykit. She opened her mouth to speak when Snowcloud let out an alarm call.

"JungleClan is here. It's a patrol big enough to wipe out our camp!"

Rabbitstar immediately stood up and mewed, "Why are they here?"

A new voice spoke up. "We have come to take something home. We believe that it is in your camp."

Rainkit looked at the strong JungleClan patrol and squeaked with shock as Featherkit dragged her back. When they got just inside the nursery, Featherkit asked, "Where's Skykit?"

Rainkit peeked outside and saw Skykit greet the JungleClan kit she had been playing with. Huh, Rainkit thought. They're taking kits as apprentices!

Rainkit heard Rabbitstar say, "Skykit, go to your littermates."

Skykit looked Rabbitstar in the eye, dipped her head and said, "Ok."

Orangepaw watched Skykit pad away and settle just outside the nursery.

The EagleClan leader turned her head to Stormstar. "I don't believe that we have anything of yours. Now, please leave my camp."

Stormstar looked calm as he said, "Ah, but Rabbitstar, I have seen what we came for. You see, we came for a kit. A kit named Skykit."

Yowls of protest rang out, and Treeheart tensed his shoulders as he looked at a cat who stood protectively over Skykit, their mother probably. She shot a scorching glare at Treeheart, an he shook his head. Skykit's mother looked confused and looked away.

"Skykit, come here."

Rabbitstar was calling Skykit to her.

Skykit padded gracefully up to her leader and mewed, "Yes?"

Rabbitstar didn't answer. "Stormstar, if you want to take her, you will fight for her."

"Fine," Stormstar had a glint in his eyes that looked menacing. He flicked his tail, and the spots in the camp that had dirt suddenly turned into many broad shouldered, dirt-covered pelts.

Rabbitstar's eyes grew wide with surprise and she finally said, "I believe Skykit gets to choose where she is. Skykit, remember that all your kin are here and that if you left, they would have to attack you if you came back."

Skykit dipped her head. "I know all the consequences of either choice," she said. "But I've already chosen."

Rabbitstar looked down in dismay as Skykit walked over to stand next to the JungleClan group.

"Very well. Just say goodbye to your sisters."

Featherkit was sad that her sister was leaving. She walked up to Skykit with Rainkit and said her goodbyes. Rainkit suddenly charged up to Skykit and mewed, "I'm sorry I ever teased you! Please stay, Skykit!"

Skykit looked sad. "I'm sorry Rainkit, but I'm going."

"Ready to go?" JungleClan's leader walked up to Skykit. Skykit nodded, and the rest of JungleClan started filing out of the camp.

"Skykit!" Featherkit heard Blizzardwind call. "Please take care!"

I decided to make a longer chapter, but there will probably be a series of short chapters. Hopefully, I will be able to update longer chapters later on.
