i shit you not, i've been listening to this song on repeat since it came out, i'm in love and so excited for what will come next

"hey tyler, jenna, come on in," i heard josh say from the door. i was sat on the bed, surrounded by pool floaties, trying not to giggle like a little kid. "you said you needed help, josh, so what's- h my gosh," tyler said as he followed josh further into the room, and jenna giggled behind him. "the white swans are me and josh's" i said pointing to them, "the flamingos are yours," josh said as i picked up a flamingo floaty and throw it at jenna, who swiftly catches it and hugs it close to her chest. "it's so cute, i love it!" she shrieked and thrusted the floaty into tyler's arms, while opening her arms wide motioning for me to toss her the other one. i smiled big at her and threw the pink bird to her. "josh what the heck, this is sick!" tyler exclaimed.

"yeah, it was all y/n's idea," he replied, smiling at me. i smiled back and admired how he and tyler talked.

jenna put her flamingo on the floor and flopped down on the bed next to me, moving the rest of the floaties out of the way. "hey girl," she said with a cheerful smile, her bright blue eyes shining in the dim light of the hotel room. "hi jenna, whats up?" i questioned as she pulled me into a quick hug. "oh, the usual, you know. excited for our beach getaway!" she said excitedly and we shared a laugh.

"alright, ready to go?" tyler said after talking with josh for a minute as he gathered up his and jenna's flamingos. "yeah let's get out of here," i said as i got up and stretched, looking to josh with a smile. i went over to my bag and got out my white lace coverup and put it on before walking back over to the bed and grabbing the twin white swans.

josh took the two black swans up in his arms and led tyler and jenna to the door. i grabbed the keys from the bedside table and followed the group down to the lobby.

"i'm driving again," i yelled as we made our way out of the front entrance of the hotel. "fine," josh said as i unlocked the jeep. he swung the trunk open and began stuffing the black swan floaties in. "well... maybe we should have thought this through a little better," he said as he shook his head, four of the floaties fit in the trunk, only barely. "tyler and i can hold the other two!" jenna suggested, what a doll. "i guess that works," i said as they picked their flamingos up again and got in the back seat. josh and i struggled to close the trunk for a moment before we made our way up to the front and climbed in.

"OKAY!" i yelled gleefully as i pressed down on the clutch and turned the key in the ignition. (im very sorry for people who dont know how a stick shift works) everyone eyed me odd and i blushed, "i was gonna say before you all stared at me so rudely," i said sassily, eyeing everyone back. "what do we want to listen to?" i asked while flipping through my music.

i looked back at tyler through the rear view mirror, then at jenna, and then up front to josh. "just put your whole library on shuffle," tyler said, "i want to hear what you listen to," he shrugged. "see if you have good taste, if not you have to stop dating my best friend," he laughed and jenna play punched his arm. i rolled my eyes and looked over at josh, placing a quick peck to his cheek, "not gonna happen," i remarked before hitting shuffle.

Jenna's eyes lit up when the opening notes of the first song played, and i turned the volume up to nearly full blast, before rolling the windows down.tyler and josh looked at each other and started singing together, pointing to jenna and i, "SOMETIMES YOU GOTTA BLEED TO KNOW, THAT YOURE ALIVE AND HAVE A SOUL!" we all sang tear in my heart as i pulled the car out of the parking lot and drove down the street.

once i pulled on the highway, tyler shushed us all and eyed josh, they sang the chorus and pointed to jenna and i, "shes the tears in my heart, i'm alive, she's the tear in my heart, im on fire, she the tear in my heart, take me higher than i've ever been," and tyler started banging on an imaginary piano. my heart melted when i looked in the rearview mirror as tyler said , "but my taste in music is your face," and pointed at jenna, his eyes and scrunched up and happy, but i diverted my eyes back to the highway ahead of me as josh placed a hand on my thigh, leaning over and kissing the top of my head. "i love you y/n," he whispered in my ear, sending shivers up my spine before he leaned back over in his seat, his hand never leaving my thigh.
