Y/n l/n just got off of a long flight coming to LA.
In all honesty, she was absolutely dreading this trip. Her and her parents went every year to visit relatives, and they would never let her venture off on her own. But now that she was 14, just shy of 15, she finally got some freedom to do what she wanted. What she wanted right now was some sleep.

Arriving in the hotel room they rented out, she knew something was wrong.
"Hey, uh Dad?"
She turned to her father, who was outside of the door, fumbling with the passports.
"Yeah, Y/n?"
He said, not paying attention.
"I think we have the wrong room. We're in a penthouse."
He looked up, calm as could be; as if nothing was wrong.
"We're staying here for the next 4 weeks, Y/N. And have you forgotten that Aunt Christine runs this hotel? Did anything we say during the flight register?"
She ignored his comment, and started to walk around the giant penthouse.

Entering the room, she was met with a huge living space, with high ceilings and a sectioned off kitchen. The far wall was made entirely of glass panels, while the theme was white & black marble.
"Hm. Modern. I like it."
Turning to the right, there was a long hallway, with various rooms.
There was an office, bathroom, two bedrooms; one being a master, the other being a guest; and another small living room.
In the master, there was an en suite bathroom & closet, with a large balcony outside.
Walking out of the hallway and through the main room, y/n opened double doors, to a larger bedroom, and a patio outside.
"Alright! I call the bedroom down the hallway!"
She shouted to no one in particular.
Gathering her things, she scurried into her 4 week home.

"Y/n! Come into the kitchen!"
Her mom yelled, knocking y/n out of her semi-conscious state.
She slipped out of her room, sliding down the smooth hardwood hallway with fuzzy socks.
Strutting to the centre island, she sat on a stool.
"What did you need?"
Her mom looked up from sorting what looked to be addresses, while her dad was on his phone.
"Tonight we're going out with Aunt Christine & Uncle Jared, so we won't be back until late tonight. Since you're almost 15, we trust you with staying here."
Her eyes lit up like Christmas lights. She would get this whole place to herself. The possibilities were endless! She could watch movies and make forts and blast her music an-
"Hon? Are you listening?"
She shook herself out of her pre planning thoughts, nodding her head along.
"Okay. But a few things; go to sleep at a reasonable time, and don't trash the place."
She gave them a sly smile, and finger guns.
"Trust me. I'll be conked out by 7:30 because of that flight. Chances are I'm asleep if I'm in my room so don't worry, have fun tonight."
They both smiled and started to gather their things.
Y/n gave her mom a hug, and her dad a fist bump.
They walked out the door, y/n locking it behind them.
Sliding her back down the wall, she smiled.
"This is going to be the best. Night. Ever."

After changing into comfortable black short-shorts for sleeping, and a plain grey t shirt, she made some popcorn for her movie marathon.
Sitting down on the large sofa, she held the popcorn and flicked on Netflix.
"Saw that, saw that, yeesh wish I didn't see that one."
Her mindless scrolling was stopped because of a sudden commotion next door. It sounded like a series of voices, but it could've been hotel staff. She brushed it off and continued looking for a movie.
After about 5 minutes from the weird noise, it got louder and was more persistent.
She walked through to the wall of her parents' room, and hit the wall with a bit of force.
"Hey! Could ya shut up over there! Some of us are trying to watch Netflix!"
It was like 9 at night, and y/n was not having it.
She stood there for a few seconds about to leave, until a voice called back.
"Bitch!"
A younger, higher pitched voice called.
"Jack!"
A bunch of other voices shouted at who she now knows as Jack.

She got through one movie, and then the noise and shuffling started again. She was not about to deal with this all night.
"Screw this."
Getting up, she grabbed her room key and furiously made her way to the obnoxious neighbours.
After knocking a few times, there were a bunch of footsteps and the same voices heard.
"I'll get it!"
"No I'll get it!"
"It could be the food I ordered, look out!"
The door was opened by a fairly shorter boy, around the same age as y/n.
He had longer brown hair and freckles splayed across his nose and cheekbones.
His eyes scoped her body, lingering mid section a little too long.
"Why hello there. Who might you be?"
Another boy, this time much taller, with dark black curls and freckles as well, slapped his arm.
"Jack what the hell!"
Y/n raised her eyebrows.
"So you're the one that called me a bitch?"
His face went pale, and he started rambling.
"Look, I-I I'm sorry I'd never mean to offend you you're beautiful and oh my god I'm sorry please forgive me."
Before she could stop him, a boy with straight brown hair and a bit of height interrupted his apology.
"Jack what did you do now,"
His eyes met hers, and for a second the world stopped for both of them.
"O-oh. H-Hi."
He blushed, which made y/n look away and tuck a piece of hair behind her ear.
Oh no. You cannot be vulnerable. These guys have been making a ruckus the past half an hour.
"Look. I'm not here to make friends and tell you my whole life story, okay? Could you guys just quiet down?"
The three boys nodded vigorously, while they all kept staring at her outfit. She shot them two thumbs up and started to turn on her heels.
"W-Wait. I didn't get your name."
The boy with straight hair called.
"And you won't. Goodnight Jack & Friends."
Hopefully now, they would stop.
