"What do you think happened?"

 

Jake asks me habang nakaupo ako sa gilid ng kama ni Ate Kate. He arrived just a little after Ate Kate passed out, having followed us. Tinulungan niya akong buhatin si Ate Kate paakyat sa kwarto niya.

Buti nalang nasa dining hall pa ang lahat at walang masyadong nakakaalam kundi nagpanic yung mga yun.

I had her laid down the bed, feet elevated habang niluwagan ko yung suot niyang corset top. Ate Kate had the room to herself, dahil hindi naman dito nakapirmi si Ate Gina, yung anak ni Uncle Bong. Pinunasan ko lang yung noo niya.

 

"I think she's a little dehydrated." Sagot ko. "At least that's the best I could work with."

"Will she be okay?" Jake.

"Can you get someone to bring up a gatorade?"

"For what?"

"Ipapaligo ko love."

"What?!"

"Edi ipapainom ko kay Ate Kate once she wakes up!" Sabi ko, rolling my eyes. "She might be dehydrated. Wala namang IV, so Gatorade would be the best chance natin. Kung may magtanong sabihin mo gusto kong uminom."

"Ako nalang kukuha. Teka lang."

 

Umalis muna siya saka naman ako naiwan kay Ate Katie. Pinunasan ko parin yung noo niya with a semi wet cloth. She stirs, eyes fluttering open. She tried to sit up but I didn't let her.

"Wag muna." Sabi ko.

"What... What happened?"

"You passed out." Sabi ko. "Kanina pa ba masama yung pakiramdam mo?"

"Nahihilo ako kanina e."She squeezes her eyes shut. "Sa studio pa, but it was so hot na itinutok ko nalang yung sarili ko sa Industrial Fan."

"Didn't you drink water?"

"I did, pero sobrang init parin e."

"Ano pa? Wala ka nang ibang nararamdaman? Nasusuka, masakit ang tiyan..."

"Ulo. Masakit lang ulo, pero nagsubside nung nakainom ako ng tubig at tumutok sa fan."

"Dehydrated ka lang." Sabi ko. "Kaya ka siguro nag pass out."

Saktong dating ni Jake, holding three bottles of Gatorade. He closes the door saka nagpunta sa amin.

"Hey ate Kate." He says. "How're you feeling?"

Ate Katie smiles. "Better, thank you."

"Eto o. Uminom ka muna." He hands her an Orange one.

"Thanks."

 

Uminom muna si Ate Kate. I let her finish half of the bottle bago niya inilagay yun sa bedside table. Inayos ko yung mga pillows niya.
