A New Verge

A/N: Did you miss me? I hope you did, because I missed this story! I was on vacation for about a week, and I've been very busy myself. I haven't forgotten about this story, and I definitely haven't abandoned it. I'm back! Though I'm not sure just how frequent updates will be. Regardless, I hope you guys enjoy some Jate fluff!

"This is the longest three minutes of my life...." Javi spoke, dramatically groaning as he paced around their bedroom. Kate had just taken her pregnancy test and they were waiting for the results.

"Just be patient..we'll know soon, okay?" Kate spoke, excitement on her features as she reached for the pregnancy test. "If im not pregnant..life goes on.....and we just keep trying. You know how much we love trying." Kate spoke, winking at Javi as she sat on the bed and fiddled with the pregnancy test.

Javi stopped walking, running his hands through his hair before stealing a couple Oreos and shoving them in his mouth to distract himself. "And if you are pregnant? Oh God! I didn't think about if you were /actually/ pregnant. We have nothing here for a baby. What is the baby going to eat? What is the baby going to wear? How do we tell Gabe he has a little cousin...wait brother or sister...Oh God!" Javi frantically spoke, causing Kate just to smile at him. "I got my girlfriend pregnant a couple days after meeting her. How do I tell our kid that? I'm going to be a terrible dad. I can barely take care of myself. How am I--." Kate cut him off, smiling at his nerves as she stood up and placed a gentle kiss to his lips to quiet him.

Kate backed up, slowly. "It's all going to work out, Sparky." She paused, reaching for his cheek and gently stroking it. "That's why we have nine months to figure out the details...We both want this baby. This baby will be good for us all...No, great...actually." Kate smiled, her eyes just warming up at the thought alone. "We'll be amazing parents. Especially you. The way you've been with Gabe and Mari...Javi, you were already a dad. You just don't remember it. We can do this. We've raised two kids before....we can definitely do it again. Don't...worry." Kate spoke, seeing the relief in his eyes at her reassurance.

Kate couldn't help but smile as they wrapped their arms around each other and just held each other for a few minutes, not realizing the results were on the pregnancy test on the nightstand.

"Todo va a estar bien, sí?" Kate spoke to him in his native language to comfort him, one of her free hands stroking back his hair. Her actions truly did relax him, and he took several slow and steady breaths, breathing in deeply. His brown hues rested on her beautiful green ones, reminding him he could do anything with this beautiful woman by his side.

"Sí, mi amor." Javi responded, pressing a gentle kiss to her temple and dropping one of his hands to her flat stomach. "Thank you, Kate. I know we can do this.." Javi spoke, already feeling like he could take on anything as long as he had her help. "It's just...I don't want to mess it up like David. I want to be like my Papa..."

"You'll be better than David and your papa. You've got a heart of gold, García...You love stronger than anyone I know." Kate quickly responded, not even having to think about this as she rubbed her hands up and down his back, now. Kate's goal was to get Javi relax and just enjoy the moment.

He relaxed greatly, leaning closer as if he was going to kiss her. Kate leaned closer to Javi, pressing her lips to his in a gentle and romantic kiss. It was a slow, sweet kiss that only lasted a few seconds before Kate backed up. "It's going to be okay." Kate whispered, Javi smiling at that as he gently traced his thumbs across her cheeks.

"You could convince me to walk off a bridge, woman." Javi teased her, causing Kate to peck his nose.

But Kate quickly backed up, reaching for one of his hands and gently tugging him over to the nighstand. "We look on three..." Kate took the test, covering the results up until he nodded. "1...2....3..." Kate spoke, revealing the + sign on the test.
