I'm Losing My Light (Zane x Reader)

"Hey guys, does Hope seem...different too you?"

The three girls looked at Rosy in surprise at the sudden question. "Different as in...?" Aphmau questioned. "I don't know...like...happy?" Rosy answered, it coming out more as a question. "We ARE talking about the same Hope who runs around full of energy doing back flips half the time, right?" Katelyn asks, raising her eyebrow. "No, Rosy~Senpai is right. Kawaii~Chan can't explain it, but Hope~Sama seems much happier! Kawaii~Chan thinks Hope~Sama is actually calmer now, and her quirkiness is more natural!" K.C states, taking a bite out of her waffle. "You noticed it too? I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought THAT level of crazy was a little off. Sure, she can be crazy...but I'm pretty sure she was faking it." Aphmau says. "It's great that she's calmed down and being what we think is 'herself' now, but what I'm wondering is-" Rosy pauses, setting down her cup of tea. "What happened to her? I know that something that could make a person change THAT much mustn't be any good...trust me, I know." She continues, mumbling the last part.  "Well, what if it was?" Aphmau says, making everybody turn to her. "Aphmau, you know what I've-" Rosy starts, but Aphmau cuts her off. "Rosy, I know what happened changed you, but what if something good happened to her? If something bad did happen, wouldn't she be more crazy? Think about it: Hope was acting crazy and so outgoing to cover something up. Now look at her, she's being herself which...still is a little crazy but she's gotten better! I just think we shouldn't push her to tell us. Hope will tell us what happened if she wants too." Aphmau finishes, picking up her plate and bringing it too the sink. "Tell you what happened about what?" A voice asks. The girls jump in surprise, making Aphmau drop her plate. They turn towards the doorway, seeing Hope leaning against with her eyebrow raised. Silence fills the room. "Uh...why you dyed your hair! Yeah!" Rosy says, standing up. Hope smiles and nods, running her hand through her now brown hair. "Thought I needed a change, you know? I wanted to be- I mean, I wanted it to be more natural. Realistic, even." She says, her smile never leaving her face. "What's wrong with unnaturally colored hair?" Katelyn and K.C ask in sync. Hope's eyes widen. "No no no! There's nothing wrong with it, it's just that I-" Katelyn cuts Hope off by laughing. "Hope, we were joking! I'm happy for you and this new you, we all are." She says. Hope smiles at them. "Thanks guys. I think I'll be heading home now, thanks for inviting me over for too eat your food!" She says, stealing a piece of bacon from Kawaii~Chan's plate before opening the window. She gives them a salute before hoisting herself out, making sure the window shuts in the process. Aphmau shakes her head with a smile. "Same old Hope".

~Time Skip~
Cadenza chased after Lucinda as she made her way to the girl's house. "Lucinda no! You can't just do this, it's rude!" Cadenza states, standing in front of her. Lucinda let's out a small laugh. "But we'rent you the one who said 'If your so curious Lucinda you should go and ask her'?" She asks. "Yes but it was just a figure of speak!" Cadenza says. "Cadenza, sweetheart, you're talking too Lucinda. I pride myself in being honest to a fault and straightforward." Lucinda says. "Really now? You we'rent saying that when you cheated at Air Hockey on the Valentine's Day date." A third voice says. Lucinda and Cadenza jump in surprise, turning around to see Katelyn standing in the doorway. "Katelyn! Where did you come from?" Lucinda asks. "Uh...I live here?" Katelyn answers. "Oh, right. Anyways, I didn't cheat. I think you were just blown away at my amazing Air Hockey skills." Lucinda says. "I don't believe you." Katelyn taunts. "I don't need to explain myself to you Katelyn, you haven't even hung out with me since I came back to town." Lucinda says, narrowing her eyes. "Ladies, calm down! Let's remember that we're all friends here! I thought you two let this little quarrel go back in High School!" Cadenza states. "Cadenza, it's called friendly competition." Katelyn states. "Yeah, I love Katelyn no matter what! But, that ain't gonna stop me from owning her at Air Hockey!" Lucinda says with a giggle. "Yep, even though Lucinda cheated." Katelyn says. "UGH, FOR THE LAST TIME I DIDN'T CHEAT!" Lucinda shouts. "YEAH? THEN FIGHT ME!" Katelyn growls. "If THIS is friendly competition, then I don't want to KNOW what enemy competition is. Though, you two have been pretty hardcore about fighting each other. Anyways, Lucinda, can you just ask Rosy and Aphmau your question so we can go back to watching 'People Of Earth'?" Cadenza asks. "As soon as Katelyn moves out of my way I will." Lucinda answers. "Wait, what do you want to ask them?" Katelyn questions. "I want to ask them about them and there supposed relationships with Zane and Aaron. I swear Rosy and Zane are dating, don't you see the way they act? Same with Aphmau and Aaron, though there's no need to ask sine they're TOTALLY a thing." Lucinda says. "Hm...part of me knows better NOT to interfere, but the other part of me really wants to know! How do you plan to ask Rosy?" Katelyn asks. "I'm going to be blunt about it and straight up ask her." Lucinda answers. "Pft, I'd like to see you try and get an answer from her!" Katelyn laughs. "Is that a challenge? Because I would wipe the floor with you on getting information." Lucinda challenges. "Ladies, calm down-" Cadenza starts, stepping in between them. "BRING IT! Whoever can get Rosy to say if she has feelings for Zane wins." Katelyn says. "That sounds fun and all, but also a bit boring. How about, whoever gets more details about them wins. Getting her to admit it is just icing on the cake." Lucinda states. "Deal!" Katelyn shouts. The two girls run inside, leaving Cadenza shaking her head. "This is going to end badly, I can already feel it." She says to herself, walking away.
