Chapter 21

(Wednesday)

The next morning, I woke up to the sound of rain hitting my window. Blake was laying on his back, his arms wrapped around my waist. His features were soft as his chest softly rose and fell. I propped my chin up on his chest, tracing his face. I saw his lips twitch up into a smile before he opened his eyes.

"Hey angel," he said, his voice husky from sleep.

"Morning," I said softly. He stroked my hair as I laid my head back down on his chest.

"Angel, are you going to tell me what your parents told you las night?" Blake asked. I looked up to see him staring intently at me. I sighed, sitting up in bed. He sat up as well, pulling me on top of him so that my legs were wrapped around his waist.

"They said that vampires have been on our territory, and that a vampire might be threatening to take me away," I said, making invisible patterns on his bare chest. His body stiffened at the mention of vampires.

"Vampires?" He asked, disbelief in his voice. I nodded my head. "I guess that would explain why the scent was unfamiliar. But it doesn't explain what vampires are doing on your territory. And, why would they want to take you?" He asked, a frown on his face. I shrugged my shoulders.

"I don't know. It just doesn't make any sense to me," I said, sighing as I looked down. I felt his finger under my chin as he lifted it up so that I was looking into his forest green eyes.

"I promise that I'll protect you, no matter what," he whispered before placing his lips on mine. He kissed me softly, nibbling on my bottom lip before pulling back. He smiled down at me as my alarm went off. I groaned.

"I don't want to go to school," I whined, pouting. Blake chuckled, kissing my lips before lifting me up and placing me on the floor. I sighed as I headed towards my bathroom to take a shower. I turned the water on before quickly brushing my teeth. I stripped out of my clothes and hopped into the shower. I quickly washed my hair and body before wrapping myself in a towel. When I exited the bathroom, I immediately walked into my closet. I pulled on a pair of jeans, a gray tank top with lace details, and a long white cardigan. I paired it with a light pink infinity scarf and tan riding boots. When I came out to do my hair and makeup, Blake was walking out of the bathroom in just a towel. I looked at him through the mirror as he looked through the overnight bag he had brought. His muscular back was facing me as the muscles in his arms moved. When he turned around, forest green eyes met my blue ones. He smirked as he dropped the towel, making my eyes wander down his body. I bit my lip as he pulled on a pair of boxers. When he walked back into the bathroom with his toothbrush, I let out a little sigh of relief. Now I could concentrate on getting ready for school. I blow dried my hair, leaving it wavy. I applied mascara before putting on some lipgloss. Blake walked back into my room, pulling on some dark wash jeans and a forest green t-shirt that made his eyes pop.

"Ready to go, angel?" He asked as he grabbed his overnight bag.

"Yeah, but I need to get my coffee before I leave," I said, smiling as I grabbed my bag. I heard him chuckle behind me as I walked out of the room, him following me close behind.

"You and your coffee. I swear, your like a caffeine addict," he said, laughing. I giggled at what he said as I made a fresh pot of coffee. I poured it into my coffee cup, quickly adding cream and sugar. We walked out of my house as I sipped on my coffee. When we got to his car, he opened the door for me before closing it after I was inside. He put his bag in the trunk before getting into the driver's side.

"Can I ask you something?" Blake asked as he started driving. I nodded my head. "Ok so since I finally found my mate, my dad wants me to take on the role of Alpha."
