John
Cisco reels back.
Joe and Lightning Man take a step back. Something about that surprises me, then I figure it out. If Lightning Man and Joe were scared Sherlock would hurt Cisco, they'd step forward. Is it possible that they're scared Cisco will hurt Sherlock?
Cisco appears to be off balance and starts trembling slightly. My breath catches in my throat and I wince. We already know Cisco has PTSD concerning objects being shoved through his heart, and Sherlock has to have just triggered that. Cisco shoves Sherlock with both hands, and a soft hum seems to come from Cisco. Sherlock goes flying backward like he was shot from a cannon. He's flung over the computer bank and crashes into the concrete wall behind him. Cisco storms out of the room.
I run over to Sherlock. Sherlock looks up at me and asks, "What? What did I do?"
Cisco
Anger makes me focused. I hit every target in the training room.
I hear footsteps behind me. I don't want to talk, so I shoot a sonic blast at whoever it is without turning around. Lightning crackles, but I still hear the whump of the blast hitting home.
Then Barry appears in front of me. "We should really do that as a training exercise. Outrunning sound from a standstill." He rubs his arm. "Today seems to be a day of bruises."
"Just leave me alone."
"Oh, come on. I wouldn't be much of a friend if I did that. Speaking of training exercises, I have a lot of lightning I could work off if you're feeling up to it?"
I want to calm down and work my anger out, so I reply, "Yeah, sure." We both stand on opposite sides of the room in fighting stances...And Barry's off. I quickly vibe to see a slow motion version of him. Barry throws a punch and packs it with lightning, but I hit his fist with a wave of sound, which grinds his punch to a standstill and forces the lightning to dissipate.
He tries the running-in-a-circle thing, but I release an omnidirectional shockwave that catches his legs. He stumbles, but I have no time to push my advantage since...well, duh, he's already up before I even take a step. I might have accelerated perception because of my vibes, but Barry has super speed. Barry runs behind me, trying to get me to lose track of where he is, but I laugh.
"That doesn't work, remember? 360 vision from the vibe thing and all?" Barry does his really, really fast punch thing. I manage to block most of them, but one slips in and lightning flickers at my arm. It hurts like crazy. I remember Sherlock fighting Barry and wince.
I try a double sonic blast, but I'm off my guard from the punch and Barry manages to throw me to the ground.
Behind me, a voice says, "You know, you could've avoided that if you'd dodged to the left and grabbed his arm. His momentum would've sent him into the wall." I look up in the vibe and see Sherlock leaning against the wall. John's standing behind his shoulder, watching.
John
I look over Sherlock's shoulder. I've just come down from the hallway. Cisco and Lightning Man are sparring. Lightning Man's doing the whole speedy-thing and Cisco's doing the waves of air/sound/whatever it is. These guys are good. Then Lightning Man knocks Cisco over.
Sherlock advises Cisco, then gets up from the wall and walks over. Cisco doesn't move from the ground and replies, "Yeah, you're right." Then he gets up and pointedly walks away from Sherlock.
Sherlock turns to me and goes, "What did I do?"
I stare at him. Sociopath, anyone? "You put your hand. Through his chest. He has PTSD."
"So? I was testing my theory!" I ignore him. He wants me to ask what his theory is, so I don't.
Sherlock walks over to Cisco. "If you're so mad at me, we can fight."
Cisco crosses his arms and cocks his head. His mouth is a flat line, but the corners of it curl up and he raises his eyebrows. "This will be fun."
