Zico paced quickly in the guest room while U-Kwon comforted the crying Minseo. Tears streamed down her face as she sputtered to talk, "I can't... I can't, h-have a kid. I'm only 17...."
"Shh..." U-Kwon rubbed her back calmly, "We're here for you every step of the way. Let's get a test just to make sure, okay?"
She nodded, wiping her eyes, "Why? We already know the answer..."
"It could be a false alarm though!" U-Kwon nodded reassuringly. Zico sat down next to her as well, leaving her in the middle of them. She leaned on his shoulder, sniffling. It was around 2 AM now, and she was tired.
Slowly beginning to doze off, her head slid more onto Zico's shoulder, yawning. Zico chuckled, stroking her hair softly. She leaned in closer, now almost fully asleep. Fluttering her eyes one last time, she put her arm around Zico for support and fell into sleep.
Waking up the next morning, she felt like the night prior was a dream. Scrambling out of bed she went to the living room and saw U-Kwon there alone.
"Ah good? You're up. I, uh, I bought the tests. I shooed the boys away so you could do it..."
Tears welled in her eyes and she nodded, taking the bag of pregnancy tests. Heaving a breath she went to the restroom and did 3 tests just to be sure. She put them on the bathroom counter and waited for 10 minutes, crying silently. She didn't want a child - not at all. Not at 17. And definitely not with her own father.
The clock ticked by, her heart pounding. She sat on the toilet with the seat down, just waiting. She wanted her past gone - forever.
U-Kwon called from behind the door, "it's been 10 minutes sweetie, you can uh, you can check."
She let out a sniffling breath, "okay." Checking the tests, she burst into tears. U-Kwon knocked loudly, "Minseo?"
She continued to cry.
"Minseo answer or I'm coming in!"
She cried louder.
As he opened the door, she was holding all three negative tests to her chest, crying loudly with overwhelming relief. U-Kwon quickly sat beside her, holding her to his chest. He kissed the top of her head, stroking her thick strands of hair. She threw the tests down, putting a hand to hold his weakly.
"It's over..." U-Kwon cooed, "You'll have no fault of your fathers now..." He kissed her head again and smiled, tears welling in his eyes also. He wiped his eyes with the back of his hand, "We made it. You're safe."
She nodded, crying still. She began to calm down, her eyes bloodshot and her head pounding. Looking up at U-Kwon, she took a gulp of air and smiled, "I-I'm free-e..." She sputtered.
"C'mon lets go tell everyone." He grinned, patting her shoulders. She nodded and got to her feet along with U-Kwon. He put an arm around her as they walked outside and the boys were all waiting by the door.
"I heard crying is she okay?" Taeil asked, looking at her. He put his hands to her shoulders and pulled her into a hug. "How'd it go sweetie?"
She merely smiled, giggling a little,
"Negative."
