Minecraft AU: Basically in the game, but with realistic features like phones and cars. Mechanics will be introduced to each story.

Seto always sleeps late. It causes some issues, definitely, but he gets by with magic.

First of all, is the problem with the normal human body. Because some stupid idiot decided to create them this way, needing the regenrate their energy every night through sleeping. Everything was wrong with that idea, needing to waste precious time to do nothing, needing to go into a state of unconsiousness were you aren’t aware of anything just frustrates him so much.

Most people uses coffee to solve the issue. But Seto hates coffee. Brice learn’t that the hard way when he came by the lab to drop him his birthday present, a mug decorated with smiling coffee beans he had made himself. They hadn’t been that familiar back then, so Seto brushed it off while Brice, upon finding out, yelled out gory details on what he would be doing to himself once he gets home.

It was fine. Seto still uses it everday for hot chocolate because Brice had handmade it for him.

But magic solves it. A simple spell when uttered the correct words and under the right condition instantly reduces the amount of exhaustion in his body. His red eyes goes away, though they do sting a little at the start, his actions are once again quick and direct and his brain can comprehend more things.

Though Brice hated him using that spell, ‘Oh my notch Seto GO TO BED!’, it becomes his top used spell within a couple of weeks.

The night also gets riduculously quiet. Without Brice comments, compliments, comedy and his prescence in the lab, you can hear a pin drop. He has broke at least 5 glass bottles due to his lach of control in his magic and Yrrej’s, his pet magma cube, little ‘bloops’.

It’s usually cute, but it’s notch damn scary when you hear it after 3 hours of silence.

His usual solution would be Brice, but the artist sleeps at the stupidly early hour of 12 in the morning, when Seto can go through two nights for no sleep at worse.

So when the silence of the night become unbearable, Seto easily, and quickly, conjures up a parrot familiar.

(It is too tedious to go so far into the forest just to get a real one. And don’t even let him get started on the vines in that place)

He has dubbed the parrot ‘Ice’, because the light blue aura belonging to a familiar makes the bird looked to be made of said material. And also because it’s a few words off Brice’s name, and the reaction of the blonde when he heard the news was priceless.

Ice sings the songs and mimics his friends voices. It has even developed a liking to Sky’s theme song, screeching it out loud at this ungodly hour and enjoys mimicing Seto’s own voice, mocking him. But when he’s not being a little brat, they have fun. Seto enjoys listening to Ice mock Merome, repeating a conversation Seto had heard when they came to visit, where it was so stupidly obvious they were flirting with each other.

It makes him want to stab Mitch and Jerome the next time they see each other, but it provides background music.

With these at his disposable, it’s not hard to live out the entire night. He dare say, that this was basically his daily routine.

Not tonight however. No matter how much Ice says, imitates his friends chatting and laughing, the annoying buzzing sound in his head refused to leave. It bashed against the skull of his head and stabbed at thr sides of his brain, trying to get out. It gets so painful, that Seto realises that the voice didn’t help in the situation.

“Ice, reditus,”

The voices fizzled out and all remains was the buzzing, and a little bit of the silence in the night. Seto exhaled and inhaled repeatedly, frustrated that the noise hasn’t left and nothing seems to be working. He feels cold, his hands are getting number and number, and no matter how many energy spells he cast, nothing goes back to normal.

Seto collasped, whimpering, into a ball. Nothing was getting better, and his mind stung just from trying to  calculate a simple math equation on how long he has gone without sleep.

1month.

Huh.

That’s a record breaker.

Not the time Seto.

“Seto?” A voice asked, and for a second he thought Ice had somehow escape the returning spell. But warm arms were suddenly embracing his midsection, pulling him into something soft and warm. Through the black dots staring to cover his vision, he sees a pair of hand reach over and remove his gloves, before clasping the, between their own larger ones.

Brice.

Brice and his stupidly large hands.

“Gosh you’re freezing,” He’s pulled back into something warm, and something warmer is draped over his shoulders. He started to rub his arm, trying to warm up Seto even faster. “Seto? Seto can you hear me?”

Seto let out a mumble, fighting desperately to try and keep his eyes open. He reached around and held onto what he thought was Brice’s sweatpants, but for all he knew, it could be something else.

“I’m going to pick you up okay? Then you’re going straight to bed, no excuses,” Brice hissed, and in this stage, Seto can’t find himself wanting to disobey.

He felt his body lift up from the ground, the arms under his body adjusting to his weight. Seto buried his face into the crevice of Brice’s shoulder, sighing in content feeling the warmth that he is getting from him. He could feel Brice’s lungs exhale as he sighed, almost in disappointment before he started to move.

Throughout the journey back to his room, Seto subconsciously memorised the Brice’s scent. It gave him warmth, somehow, and the little hints of acrylic paint that remained on his body provided a unique smell that Seto welcomed after spending 30 days inhaling healing potion fumes, weakness potion fumes, any fume that ever existed.

Before he knew it, his body was being placed onto a rather soft surface. It smelled like his bed, so he guessed that it was his bed.

“From tomorrow onwards, when I go to sleep, you’re sleeping as well whether you like it or not,” Brice hissed as he pulled the blankets up to Seto’s shoulder. The sorcerer seemed to have fallen asleep already, so Brice was glad that he wasn’t able to rebut.
