A is for Adrenaline

Minecraft AU: Basically in the game, but with realistic features like phones and cars. Mechanics will be introduced to each story.

Context: Sky and Ty's first time playing a parkour map before their first epic jump map. They have never experienced respawning before because they have been living their lives pretty safe so far. They're about 18 in this story.

"I'm not really sure about this whole Parkour thing," Ty glances up from tying his shoelaces at Sky, who's reading the instructions written in signs on the board in front of them. "It... it doesn't really sound that fun, are you sure you want to spend our afternoon doing this rather than mining for budder?"

"Sky, anything is better than spending the rest of the day in some cave looking for yellow sticking out in the cave," He says and stands up. Sky's face morphed and disfigured into horrified when he took offence to what he had said. His mouth opened to argue with him.

"Budder is-!"

"Yeah I know Sky, but shut up,"

He pouted and crossed his arms. Ty took this time to read the rules himself.

"Ok, no cheating, don't place or break any blocks, ghast tears serve as points,"

"Huh, I thought to make to the end was the goal, not beat your best friend,"

"Sky I will slap you,"

"Aw, Ty, I love you too sweetie,"

"Shut up," Ty muttered as he tries to prevent his cheeks from turning any redder. For some reason, he really can't keep his cool recently.

Hm...

"You know what, let's get going before you do something stupid again,"

They walked the short distance to the edge of the hill where they had spawned, eyeing the platform in the distance. It was just a 3 block jump from what they can see, but seeing that they have never tried parkour before, it's pretty daunting.

Ty took a deep breath and leapt forward, closing his eyes until he feels his feet land onto the wool platform. He grinned and turned behind to face Sky, smugly.

"Okay, haha, good job," Sky smirked before crouching down to get into a ready position. Ty stepped back to allow him onto the platform. "It's not that ba- BLUH!"

"Sky!" Ty screamed when he watched his best friend's body fall down and crash onto the ground. His heart stopped when he saw his body flash red, a part of him expecting Sky to stop moving entirely and a dark red liquid starts pooling out of his mouth.

But no, Sky just stands up and pouts up at him. Ty takes multiple deep breaths trying to calm himself down.

"Don't laugh at me!"

"I'm... I'm not!" Ty says while Sky climbed back onto the hill to try the jump again. He makes it this time.

"Ahem... I wasn't sprinting just now," He says. Ty nods and tries to muster up a smile, reaching out to pat his back just to reassure himself that Sky is alive and the respawn system still exists.

It works and Ty is feeling much better about his and Sky's life now! (Just a bit)

They continued forward, Ty starting to fall behind Sky just to be more careful, but also to watch the budder lover's back. Sky, meanwhile sprinted forward hooting and cheering with each successful combo jump due to his momentum.

"Well, at least you're enjoying it!" Ty called out and Sky skidded to a stop on the now purple platform. He turns around and laughs at him and the shorter rolled his eyebrows. Ty stopped to adjust his headphones briefly before crossing the next platforms without stopping.
