It was the day Mike and El were dreading and excited about all in one. Seeing as the end of their senior year was coming to a close and they had both just received their acceptance letters for the colleges they had applied to. Graduation was next week, and they couldn't even think about that yet, seeing as all their focus was about them making sure not to give into opening the envelopes until they were both together. Eleven was nervous with anxiety seeing as she couldn't imagine if her and Mike would have to move states away from each other. She tried her best to think positive about the whole situation, hoping for the best.

They were supposed to meet each other in the parking lot after school ended, and Eleven and Mike were both counting the minutes until the last bell rung.

When everyone hurried out the front doors of Hawkins high and started socializing amongst themselves, is when El found Mike, standing by his car his eyes searching the huge crowd of teens until they landed on her. She smiled shyly as she quickly made her way over towards him, her envelopes already in hand as she was wanting to go ahead and get the waiting over with.

"Hey babe," he smiled brightly when she was finally standing in front of him. His hands came out to grasp her waist, pulling her close to him briefly so he could press a quick peck to her lips.

"No matter what.... remember that we'll be fine and we'll work it out," Mike encouraged her, their foreheads resting together as he continued to stare into her honey filled eyes. She nodded her head in agreement, her bottom lip stuck between her teeth as she pulled away and brought the paper between them.

They took turns opening their envelopes, nerves showing on both of their faces seeing as the first one hadn't been a match when it came to both getting in.

Mike opened his last letter, grinning widely when he got into Columbia. Eleven stood there in worry, not wanting to open her letter from the same school, scared that her dreams would be crushed with only a few words.

"Can you do it... I can't," she paced back and forth in front of him, her hands shaking as she passed the paper to Mike. He nodded his head, and without hesitation opened it. He stood in silence as his eyes danced across the paper, reading word for word as Eleven almost had a panic attack.

Why wasn't he talking? She questioned herself, her brows raising in anticipation as he finally looked up. And, when a small smile tugged at his lips and he laughed with glee she knew that she too had gotten in.

"Really!" she couldn't help but smile in return, a laugh escaping her as he nodded his head frantically and passed the acceptance letter back to her. She gasped in shock when she went over it, a hand coming up to her mouth as tears welled up in her eyes.

"Oh my god," she smiled in disbelief, her hands flying up to wrap around Mike's neck. His own arms wrapping around her waist, and lifting her off the ground in happiness.

Graduation approached them quickly the following week, as Mike and Eleven still couldn't believe they had both gotten in to Columbia. She remembers Mike going on and on about how amazing the school was supposed to be, and she couldn't help but feel pride for being smart enough to get in to.

Right now, the entire group was getting ready to leave for graduation. All of them huddled in Mike's basement, where it all started. Eleven was talking happily with Max about how her and Lucas had also gotten into the same school which happened to be NYU. Dustin and Will decided to stay close to home, and wanted to go to the community college close to Hawkins.

"I love you guys," Eleven said out of nowhere, smiling at every single one of them as they all smiled back in return with their own "Love You's," and laughs.

Mike came up behind Eleven as she placed her cap on her head, his arms wrapping around her waist from behind as he pressed a kiss to her cheek. Their eyes met in the mirror they were looking in, as he whispered, "I love You's," repeatedly into her ear causing her to giggle.

"So, this is it... we are about to officially graduate from high school," She stated in awe, her hands coming down to caress his arms, that were still wrapped firmly around her.

"Uh huh," he agreed as he pressed another soft kiss to her cheek, causing her skin to flush a shade darker.

The ceremony went by quickly, as each of their class members got called onto stage to receive their diploma's. Eleven even recalls seeing Hopper shed a few tears as she met him up on the bleachers after it was over, with a call me when you find out what time you'll be home later. She was surprised he was being so lenient when it came to her staying out late with Mike, but she was grateful that he trusted her enough.

Mike, Eleven, and the rest of the group all hauled into Mike's old car and drove down to the quarry. They still had the entire summer to hang out and make memories but it seemed like the perfect night for some swimming.

"Guys... are you coming in or what," Dustin called from the water, as Mike and Eleven rolled their eyes with a smile permanently stuck to their faces.

"So... what are we going to do this summer," Eleven asked as she stripped down to her underwear like the rest of them, as if they were little kids again.

"I don't know... but I have a feeling it's going to be the best summer ever," he states, before pushing her into the water with a laugh.

"You did not just do that," she laughed in return as she came back up, her once curly hair now sticking in all different directions as she pushed it out of her eyes. She leaped forward to grasp his waist, pulling him in with her, with a shriek leaving the boy in return, as the cold water enveloped around them.

When they both resurfaced again, Mike quickly leaned down to capture her lips with his while she wasn't paying attention, swallowing a gasp as she quickly leaned into it. Her hands came up to wrap around his neck, and tug at the end of his hair. As she wrapped her legs tightly around his waist, feeling as his hands moved down to rub circles on her lower back.

"Are you guys done sucking face yet, come on," They hear one of their friend's yell, as they pulled away with a smile. She stayed attached to him, as he swam them backwards to where their friends were.

"finally," Lucas teases them, when they make it over towards the others. Earning a splash of water to the face by Mike.

They spend the rest of the evening, like they were in elementary school. Playing chicken, and splashing water as if they had gone back to their childhoods. And when it came to the end of the night, they all dried off by going to get some food, and share some laughs that both Mike and El knew where going to make for one of those amazing memories they'd look back on it a couple of years.
