The Scientist's Partner - Wilson x Reader [Don't Starve]

You woke up feeling like you were floating. After your vision adjusted itself you got a clear picture of what was happening. You were currently being carried by Wilson bridal style with Willow walking beside him.

"I'm not dead guys" You announced, causing Wilson to jump out of freight, before chuckling. He let you hop down so you could walk yourself.

The 3 of you walked side by side,in the direction of Wilson's camp. Memories of the night before flooded your mind.

"That's the last time I go exploring with you guys" Willow said, fiddling with her lighter.

"It can be rather...inconvenient but it's very necessary" Wilson replied. You noticed how close he was walking to you. Your hands were practically touching.

"I think it'd be a good idea for someone to stay behind and watch the camp anyway. Just in case" You added.

"Yeah. That and I don't want to nearly DIE again" Willow exclaimed, glaring at you and Wilson.

Wilson shrugged.

"Adventuring isn't for everyone."

As you guys made it back to your camp site, you heard unfamiliar noises. You noticed a small blonde girl sitting next to the fire place.

"What the-"

"Hey!" Willow yelled, interupting your brief moment of questioning.

Willow ran over and confronted the girl.

"What are you doing here?" Willow asked. The blonde girl looked up, then turned around to see you and Wilson running in from behind.

"Abigail told me to come here" She plainly said, twirling a flower around her fingers.

"So there's another person here?" Wilson asked.

"Yes. And no" The girl replied.

Just by looking at her, you could tell she was fairly younger than you, Wilson or Willow. She had long blonde hair with a pinkish flower in it and she wore a white sweater, red skirt, red and white striped socks with white shoes.

"What's your name?" You asked.

"Wendy" The girl replied. Her eyes were blank with dark bags underneath, standing out against her pale skin.

"Where's this Abigail?" You inquired again.

"There" Wendy softly spoke, pointing to nothing but air.

You looked at Wilson, who looked slightly concerned.

"There's no one there" Wilson stated.

"Yes. She's there. Only I can see her. She's my sister" Wendy spoke.

"I'm going to go make everyone some food.." Wilson announced, walking to his little work space and cooking some meat on the fire. You sat down in between Willow and Wendy, occasionally glancing at Wendy to see what she was doing.

"Why are we here?" Wendy asked, looking up at you with those blank wide eyes.

"I...i'm not sure" You replied, looking down. The longer you stayed here, the more you missed your home. Your bed. Your books. As if on command, Willow said

"I want to go back. Get out of here."

"Same" You quietly responded, looking up at Wilson. Your eyes met for a second before he looked back down at the meal he was preparing.

He served the 3 bowls to you, Willow and Wendy.

"Aren't you eating?" You asked him, grabbing a chunk of the meat.

"Nah...i'm going to tinker around with the science machine" he replied. With a nod, you ate at the food.

Wilson was being abnormally quiet. Was it because of Wendy? Or perhaps something else was troubling him. You placed your bowl onto the ground and walked over to him, sitting down and watching him fiddle about with his machine.

"Damn...I'm out of grass for rope" Wilson sighed.

"Perhaps another adventure is required?" You smiled, receiving a wide-eyed look from Wilson.

"I think we've had enough adventuring for now" He said. His eyes remained on your for nearly a solid minute, before he broke the contact by looking down.

"Are you okay Wilson?" You asked.

"Yeah...I am..ish" He replied, sitting next to you.

"What's wrong?" You asked.

"I know how much it would mean for you to get back home. And for some reason it's effecting me a lot. So i've decided i'm going to do it"

"Do what?"

He put his hands on yours.

"Get you home, Y/N."
