It's been a month since Mike and I ended whatever it was that we had, Max literally forced food down my throat now, and and will not let me skip lunch. She has I'm too skinny and that it's bad for my health. I eat to keep her at peace. I only eat when I'm happy, I realized that a long time ago. So I try to be happy as much as possible but it doesn't seem to work since I don't eat much.
"Look at you. You're all skin and bones! Don't make me shove the food in your mouth again!" Max threaten.
"I'm eating, I'm eating. Calm down" I said chewing my food.
Mike doesn't hang out with us anymore, he hangs out with Isabella's friends during lunch. And he hangs out with the guys after school.
"That bitch stole Mike away from us" Dustin said angrily.
"He hangs out with us after school" Will said.
"Yeah because he is too embarrassed to do it in public now that Isabella is popular" Lucas said.
"And I wanted to date her at some time. How pathetic. I'm glad I didn't" Dustin said.
"Hello people!" Noah said approaching us and Max growled while rolling her eyes. I elbowed her
"Stop it!" I whispered-yelled.
"He is so annoying. He follows you everywhere like a lost puppy, he is too clingy. He needs to let you breath. Gives you love letters everyday. He is so creepy" She says eying him and shivering in disgust.
"I know he is creepy but I don't want to hurt his feelings" I said.
"Yeah well something else is gonna hurt him if he doesn't quit being a creep. Not even Lucas was that bad and he searched through a trash can for a note that I threw away. Well technically Dustin did but you get the point" Max said.
"A beautiful rose for a beautiful girl" Noah said handing me a rose and a letter while kissing my cheek and squeezing between Max and I to sit next to me.
"Now!" Max said making choking impressions behind Noah's back.
"Okay Noah lets go for a walk, yeah?" I said standing up.
"I'll go to end of the world with you by my side. When th sun hits you're face, you're eyes shine brighter then—" Noah began.
"Sooo, Nosh I know you told me, that you would wait for me to be ready—" I started
"That's correct" he interrupted
"Right. The thing is I don't want you to wait anymore. I don't wanna lie to you. Friends don't lie. And I can fake to like you or feel something that I don't. I don't want to hurt you but I can't lie to you. It's not you Noah, you are a great guy. But I can't. I'm sorry. I don't want you to waste your time on me, on trying to change me, because it's not gonna happen" I said.
"I don't understand, I thought you were actually developing feelings for me. You said you liked me" he said.
"As a friend Noah" I clarified.
"But I can help you forget about Mike. I know I'm not him, but I'm better. I'm not going to hurt you, not like he did. I'd cherish your heart as if it were gold" he said holding my hands.
"You can't change someone that doesn't want to be changed. You can't cherish a heart that's not yours" I said.
"I can make you forget about him. Just give me more time" Noah begged pulling me closer.
"Noah please don't make this harder for yourself" I said trying to pull away.
"No no no. I refuse to give up on you. I'm not Mike. Jane listen, unlike him, I'm actually fighting to get your love. A love that Mike threw away. I'm trying!" Noah begged.
"That's the thing Noah I don't want you to try! I just can't, no matter how hard I try. He is a part of me" I said.
"but you said that—" he said.
"I know what I said. I was just trying to convince myself that I hated him. But I can't hate him! And I don't want to hurt your heart. You are too good for me" I said trying to talk some reason into him.
"No no. We are perfect for each other! And I'll prove it. I didn't want to this right now. I was waiting for the perfect time. But desperate situations call for desperate measures" Noah said.
"I don't unders—" I began But was cut off my Noah crashing his lips with mine. My eyes widen in shock and pulled away quickly.
"NOAH!" I gasped shocked.
"I had to make you see what I see. What did you feel?" Noah said happily
"Noah please don't make me do this" I said sadly.
"Jane" Noah begged.
"I felt nothing. I never have and I never will" I said.
"Jane please..." Noah begged
"I'm sorry" I said walking away from him.
"The reason why it didn't work was because you couldn't let him go. You weren't willing to try with me. Have a happy life Jane" Noah yelled angrily.
I kept walking, until I saw the guys standing with Max.
"How did it go with creep-noah?" Max asked.
"Well I broke his heart" I said.
"El you did not" Max said.
"Now I'm just like Mike, seems like the harder I try to stay away, the closer he gets. Is this how this love thing goes? You need to be torture constantly? Because if it's like that, I don't want it. I've had enough of that crap all of my life" I said grabbing my bag.
"I'll get better El, it's Mike lost" Dustin shrugged.
"Thanks Dustin. Guess what?" I said trying g to lighten up the mood.
"What?" Dustin asked excitedly.
"I, being the great friend that I am, got you a date with Chelsea Smith." I said.
"No way. Are you kidding?" Dustin asked shaking Will.
"Nope. Friday night at 7, movie date" I said wiggling my eyebrows.
"YOU HAVE RUINED HER!" Max gasped.
"Thank you so much!" Dustin said hugging my tightly.
"It was about time" I said laughing.
"Damn right. Girls can't resist my pearl. Pr-rrrrrrrrrrrr" Dustin winking.
"Go get her Tiger" I encourage.
"At least one good thing happen today" Max said.
"I want eggos, same diner?" I asked.
"Let's go!" Max said.
"Are you skipping?" Lucas asked.
"First time for everything" Max said.
