Chapter 9
“…And that’s when they disappeared.” Kakashi finished his sentence and waited as Lady Tsunade (fifth Hokage) processed what he said. He had just finished de-briefing what happened that day, including the disappearance of Naruto and Lee. It was stressful for all; the villages and his friends.
“This is a problem,” Lady Tsunade said, rubbing his forehead. “If someone in that dimension knows about the nine-tails, they could easily get their hands on it and bring chaos. And what’s worse, if the nine-tails if take from Naruto, he’ll be kil-“
“Enough!” Sakura screamed, slamming her fists onto the desk. It shattered instantly, causing chunks of wood splinters to fly crazily around the room. Kakashi ducked as the leg of the table flew over his head.
“Don’t you say such things about him… He’ll be okay. He’ll beat them up! Naruto’s beaten godly people to smithereens and survived! He became a village hero and survived! He’s Naruto, for goodness sakes! Do you even know who you’re talking about?!” Sakura stopped screaming to catch her breath. Lady Tsunade noticed as her fists shook and she shivered violently.
“That’s enough, Sakura.” Lady Tsunade said calmly. Sakura shoved her hands to her sides and shook her head. She turned and stormed off through the door that was now covered in wood chips. She slammed it behind her.
“Man, that girl need to get a grip on her anger.” Lady Tsunade sighed. “But more to the point at hand; what are we going to do to get Naruto and Lee home?”
“There’s nothing we can do, Lady Tsunade. We don’t have any jutsu of clue that could help them get home. All we can do is hope they find a way themselves.”
Sakura walked down the street, cooling her anger that had almost gone. It was a nice night tonight, not too hot and not too cold. It would’ve been better if she wasn’t stressing so much.
A loud rumbling noise snapped Sakura out of her thoughts. She looked down, and it struck her what the noise was.
I guess I haven’t eaten since breakfast today. And with such a big mission and all, I’m starving. Sakura looked around for somewhere to eat. I’ll just go to the closest place; I don’t think I can wait for mum to cook dinner.
Sakura turned the corner and looked foreward. How ironic; it just had to be Ichiraku Ramen. But there was no-where else to go. She was starving.
So it was a pretty down Sakura that walked into Ichiraku Ramen for dinner.
“Hey, Sakura! Long time no see, now you’re a really great shinobi and all.”
Sakura turned to face the familiar voice of Iruka-Sensei, who was smiling cheerfully, obviously unaware of Naruto and Lee’s disappearance.
She sat down and ordered herself a bowl of pork miso ramen, Naruto’s favourite. “This may seem rude, but I’ve had a big day and I’m not in the mood to talk. But I’ll let you know, Naruto’s mis-“
“Oh, come on! Don’t be so down on yourself!” Iruka-Sensei laughed at her expression. “You know, when your sad, it’s because you’re only paying attention to the thing that is bringing you down. You gotta think of the things that make you happy, and you know are good, like this ramen.” He took another mouthful of his meal.
“One bowl of miso pork ramen!” the ramen guy behind the counter smiled as he turned and handed her a bowl of steaming hot noodle soup. She picked up her chopsticks, realizing thinking about Naruto put her off her meal. She was stressing too much to enjoy a meal so nice.
“What’s wrong Sakura?” Iruka-Sensei said with a mouthful of noodles. Not a pretty sight. “You look really down and you’ve barely touched your ramen in the last five minutes.” Sakura looked up from her bowl and shrugged her shoulders. “Is the hard work of being a ninja starting to make you tired? You must’ve had a full-on mission today. Speaking of which, how’s Naruto doing?”
Sakura flinched.
“Ah, Naruto! I wondered what was off. He always comes for dinner. Where is he, Sakura?”
Sakura’s fists were shaking by now.
“I heard he’s being doing very well now, seeing as he is striving to become Hokage and get Sasuke back, right?” Iruka-Sensei laughed politely.
“If he becomes Hokage, he better still come to get my Ichiraku Ramen!” The ramen guy bellowed a laugh.
“WILL YOU SHUT UP ALREADY?!” Sakura screeched even louder than in front of Tsunade. She picked up her bowl of still-steaming-hot-ramen and threw it. It hit the ramen man in the face, and I mean straight in the face. There was about two seconds of silence…
Before the man yelled in pain.
“YOWCH! YAAAAAA! HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT! GET IT OFF! GET IT OFF!” The man started running around, hands on his eyes trying to get the burning feeling to go away. Iruka-Sensei almost chocked on what he was eating in surprise.
The lady working with the ramen guy threw a large bucket of icy cold water on the man, making him freeze in his tracks and almost fall over all together. Sakura stormed out of the restaurant, hands on her face, crying or screaming- the man wasn’t sure. All he knows was that she forgot to pay, which was something he didn’t like at all.
“Come back here, young lady!” He yelled, picking up his broom. Iruka-Sensei held out his hand.
“I’ll pay.” He sighed, laid his money on the table and went after Sakura. He had to find out what was wrong. He knew it was something to do with Naruto.
He had to know what was going on.
