Chapter 2
Damon's P.O.V

Great! Now I have to listen to Saint Stefan rant on and on about how killing her was the last thing to do. Boring!
I held up my hand to stop him. I smirked at him when he glared and crossed his arms. "Listen Stef-Stef, I get it. It was the wrong thing to do. Bla, bla, bla. You can make her go on your diet, but I needed to make sure it wasn't Katherine. It was a spur of the moment thing. Now go feed on Bambi and cheer up!" I said while patting him on the shoulder and then I was on the floor with Stef holding my neck. His face was an angry contorted mess.
"You changed her. Now you will make her your first priority and you will make this right. Got it?" Wow! He was really angry! They say I get mad and out of control, he needs to take a mental check.
I smirked and grabbed his hand and stood up while he rubbed his wrist.
"Fine. I will make her my... Priority. But you can't yell at me when I teach her my ways. Got it little confused brother?" And he looked shocked. He was... Surprised?
"You really would help her?" He was so stupid. I have other reasons to do so, but I can't tell him that now can I?
"Yes. Why are you surprised that I am actually doing something so you like?" I had him there and he knew it, but all he did was nod his head and look at the dead girl on the couch and said one thing.
"Good luck." And then he walked out. I was going to have fun with this. Blondie gave me a glare and walked out. Donavan shook his head and followed.
Well Damn. My brother hates me and I feel nothing. Hmmm. I never liked Blondie, Donavan, or judgy witchy. I really hate a lot of people. I should become a people-person. NOT! Damn. Transition needs to be faster. She's going to need blood.
I left the dead girl on the couch and left to go to the hospital. I walked in and saw the door and the woman standing there doing paper work. Walking up to her, I compelled her to go and then I realized this is going to be harder to do than I thought. I walked in and shut the door. How to do this.
After a few hours there were less people and I walked out casually with twelve bold bags.
Nope. Not random at all. A guy dressed in all black with twelve bold bags walking out into the night.
But I got back and sat in front of the dead girl. Well, Elena.
I guess I fell asleep because the next thing I knew there was a cracking sound and I woke up to see the new baby vampire arrival. She sat up with grace and looked- no glared- at me.
"I hate you. What happened?" She demanded. And I felt the smirk tug at my lips.
"Well dearest vampire, I wanted to know if you were really Katherine and so I gave you my blood and then snapped your neck. So you have a choice. Drink blood or really die. What's your choice?" And I could see the fear in her eyes and the slight confusion.
"I can't be a vampire. That's not possible. You gave me Blood. You never gave me venom." She said the last part to herself. I smirked.
"I will explain everything if you give me an answer to turn or die." And she shuddered and looked out at the night sky. She would need a ring. Oh great. I have to call the witch. She looked at me and then down at the table.
"Vampire." And then she walked into the kitchen. Now I feel sad. WAIT! I FEEL SAD?! Oh no! I'm feeling stuff. Uh oh. I need to get drunk more often then!
I walked out to see her glairing out the window. I handed her a blood bag and smiled at her. "You'll be fine. Just let your instincts take over, but don't kill me when I restrain you from going outside. Is your throat burning?" I asked as she took it and examined the crimson liquid.
She looked up and frowned and then she had a tear role down her face.
I found myself pulling her into my arms and she cried into my shirt. I have officially turned into Saint Stefan. God please, help me!
After a few minutes of her crying, she pulled away and let her instincts take over. Her fangs come out and latched into the bag and she sucked the blood out on under a minute.
Like Stefan sucks the fun out of everything.
She pulled her fangs in and her veins disappeared. I could feel my mouth fall. That was impossible. All vampires freak out after they drink for the first time. That's not right. I handed her another and she frowned.
"I'm not hungry."She stated and pushed the bag away. She would have to be around thumping hearts so I could get her to the witch's house.
"You'll need it. Drink." She looked skeptically at the bag until I pushed it towards her and she drank it and then just like the first time, my mouth fell open.
She reached out and pushed my jaw up and I flinched away from her touch. Elena frowned and pulled away.
I smiled. "I'm not the touchy felly guy. That would be my brother. Stefan." And she smiled.
"I need to change my clothes. I need to go home." And she started to walk past me until I shot my hand out and caught her wrist. She turned in surprise and looked up at me.
"You're not going anywhere. I'll go for you. Where do you live?" I asked her. For the first time, I was helping someone.
"If you leave, I leave. Come on." She replied and she grabbed my hand and pulled my out the front door. We walked to the middle of the front yard before I stopped and grabbed her wrist in an iron grip. She frowned and tried to pull away.
"You're going to let your senses take over and I know it. So now I know you're not going to run. Lead the way through the woods." And she frowned.
"I don't know this place. I told you, I moved in a few days ago." And then I was stumped. How could I get her away from people, but end up at her house-oh!
"Tell me where you live." I demanded and she told me. We ran through the woods at inhuman speeds and suddenly she stopped.
I fell forward because I had her arm, but I had the mind to let go. I fell forward and hit a tree and I knew it left a mark. I grabbed the tree for support as I stood up and I grabbed her arm in a grip that would beyond doubt break a humans arm.
I waved my hand in front of her face and all she did was stair at the skin on her arms. After a few minutes she spoke.
"Why aren't I pale and cold?" And I laughed.
"Are you talking about the Cullen's again?" And she nodded.
"We are stronger and faster. They suck and so let's move on." I told her quietly. Then I started to run and she followed and then we came up to a house.
I walked to the front door and she looked at me. "Where's the key?" And she shrugged. I really am losing my patients with this vampire. I tried the windows and they were locked. Well. "I'm breaking a window." And I elbowed it in and she went in and I followed. I looked around and saw boxes and the smell of human. She really was a human. A good smelling human. Strawberries.
She walked up the stairs and I followed her this time and she looked at me.
"Can't I just stay here?" She asked and I laughed. She stared and I stopped.
"Oh, you were serious. No! Pack some stuff. This isn't the only place we need to stop. Grab a lot of stuff because you'll be staying at the boarding house for a while." And she sighed.
"Is my throat supposed to burn right now?" She asked while going into the closet to get a bag.
I nodded at her when she looked my way ad she sighed again and smile.
"Mine doesn't burn. Well barley anymore." I laughed.
"Trust me. It will burn when we have to run through town to get to our next place." And she turned to growl at me.
"What makes you think I want to actually stay with you? Hell I don't even know your name!" She exclaimed. But she was right.
"My name is Damon Salvatore. My younger brother was the other male vampire at the Grill. His name is Stefan. I really want to tell you about the past and why I turned you, but that can wait for a while." And I looked away so I didn't have to see the look on her face.
"How long will I be staying there?" She asked for the second time and I could feel the patients burning away. As I sat on the floor next to the door frame, she incessantly asked the same question over and over. My eyes closed and I faced the ceiling. "However long it takes for you to control your thirst. A month? You're lucky I'm helping you. If it were Saint Stefan, you would be feeding off Bambi and Thumper." And then all the sounds in the room stopped and she was in front of me and my eyes opened to look into her brown ones. She glared at me and she even looked h- wait! I can't go there!
"What?" I asked her with a smirk. She grabbed my throat and pulled me up to be at eye contact even when I was at least six inches taller. "What do you mean?! I'm not drinking off humans!" And then she went quiet.
"The blood you drank gave you the strength to turn into a vampire. If I had not given you that, you would have died. That blood was from the hospital. Sorry to break it to you, but I couldn't-" And she loosened her grip and let me go.
"You couldn't what? What Damon?" And then it all snapped. I couldn't let her die. But I could never say that now could I?
My eyes looked anywhere but her, and they rested on the floor. "I couldn't... Let you die." And she walked to go and finish packing.
I walked down the stairs and sat on the last step and my head fell to my hands. Did I feel something for this girl that I had only met two days ago? I surely couldn't because we would never make it. I was a womanizer and she was-well I don't know.
I felt a hand shake my shoulder and she looked down at me. "I'm ready. Let's go." I stood up and took her bag and slung it over my shoulder. We had two hours before the sun come up. I grabbed her hand again and we walked out the door but suddenly stopped.
"What do we do about the window?" I asked and she shrugged.
"Nothing valuable in there so let them break in." And then I had her hand and we ran until we reached the witch's home.
"Where are we?" Elena asked with a look of wonder. I smiled and we climbed the tree with ease and I knocked on the window until I saw the witch glare at me and she threw up the glass.
"What do you want Damon?" She asked. I shrugged.
"A ring for a friend. You might like her. When you see her face, don't call her Katherine. It's not her. I turned her two days ago." And then she frowned.
"Come in Damon Salvatore. What's your friend's name?" I told her and she let Elena in and then a look of terror shaded her face.
"Katherine." And then Damon grabbed both wrists and pulled them behind Elena's back. She struggled and then her eyes focused on Bonnie's neck. I pulled a blood bag out from my leather jacket pocket and handed it to her. She drank it and handed it back to me and looked at Bonnie.
"I'm not Katherine. I don't know who that is and I never have met anyone with that name. My original name was Bella Swan or Isabella Swan, but when I moved here, I changed it to Elena Gilbert. And yes. I did know about vampires and werewolves before. But Damon still has not told me why I'm here." And she glared at me. Bonnie looked shocked and then she looked at me.
"So she needs a ring?" And I nodded.
Elena looked at me like I had grown twenty heads. "What the hell is she talking about a ring?" I smirked.
"The ring protects you from the sunlight. The sun will burn you if you don't have the ring on. So keep it on at all times." And then we watched Bonnie get a ring and say some stuff and then she handed it to Elena.
"Sorry for calling you Katherine. Here it is. All vampire rings are the same, so I hope you like it. How did you know about vampires and werewolves?" Bonnie asked as if she was a kid wanting to know if it were okay to eat the ice cream.
Elena smiled and looked at the ring. "Thanks for the ring and I dated a vamp and he was nothing like a real vampire. Just a dude with sparkle skin, no fangs, yellow eyes, and a douche bag ego. If I see you again, I can tell you more." And then I ushered her out the window and grabbed her hand and noticed that she was looking at my face. She looked at me with a look of something.
"Why are you helping me?" She asked me with a frown. I smirked.
"It's not something I do a lot. Now come on." And then we were running to the boarding house with the bag and a new ring.
We looked like bandits. Me in all black, her with dark purple and black. Wow. We walked in the door and saw Saint Stefan glaring at me.
"You took her out of the house?! Are you stupid?" He screamed. I thought this was supposed to be reversed. I smiled at my younger brother.
"She was fine. She needed clothes and a ring. Would you rather have me leave and then she leaves and then feeds off people and we don't know where she is?" I mocked and he backed off.
"Well both of you are being weird. I want to go and be alone so where am I staying?" She asked while looking as if she wanted to kill us both. I smiled. "Right this way. The Guest room is all set and has been since... A number of years. Let's go. We walked up the stairs and went down the hall to the door closest to mine. Right next to my room. She walked in and put her bag on the bed. I shut the door and walked down the stairs and got myself a shot of Bourbon. When I turned around I was greeted to Alaric, Stefan, Caroline, Bonnie, and Matt's stares. They all had the same amused smirk and the same 'I know something you don't know' look.
"Is there something I missed?" I asked as Stefan gave me 'the look'.
"You like her." And then I was done. My glass dropped to the floor and I had a look of utter shock on my face.
"Why else would the all high and mighty Damon Salvatore HELP someone who wasn't himself?" I glared daggers at Blondie and then put the smirk on my face.
"Sorry sweetie. I'm incapable of feelings. We all know that now don't we. Now I'm going to get drunk. Piss me off and say anything about this conversation to anyone; I'm going to be the biggest jackass of the world." And then everyone laughed.
"You already are Damon." Ric said with a smile. I looked at them all and then at the bottle of the finest bourbon.
"You people ain't worth this." And then I took it and disappeared to my room.
Just great. We have a new housemate and they think I like her. Well damn. I will prove them...
