Chapter 9

Elena's P.O.V

I walked into my house and saw the other me sitting on the table. She smiled and looked me up and down. "So you're the new doppelganger. Having fun with the Salvatore's? I think you heard about me. I'm Katherine." She said with a smirk. It reminded me of Damon. The way a smirk was always spread across his face and his eyes always had a glint of mischief, mystery, and amusement. But they were always guarded. Like he never let anyone close enough to get in.

I looked at her and dropped my stuff on the floor and turned to look at the bottle of liquor on the counter. She looked at me and stood up. She looked at me going up and down as I walked to the bottle.

"There is no difference. Damon and Stefan looked at me for hours straight trying to look for one. We only look alike. We act nothing like each other. I love Damon. You love Stefan. Now why the hell are you in my house?" I asked as I opened the door and took out a glass.

I walked away and sat on the couch as I heard another glass being poured and the couch moved and I knew she sat next to me.

"So as long as you're here, tell me your story." I said as she sipped her liquid quietly. She looked at me and smiled.

"Tell me yours first." And so I told her. Not leaving anything out. The murders and the newborns and the engagement and all the stuff from Forks when I was little to Arizona and back to Forks and then when I moved here.

I was shocked by her expression. She looked at me and a smile spread across her lips. "So a sparkly vampire seduced you?" She asked with amusement and then she sighed.

"Now I suppose you want my story?" She asked while I nodded my head yes and she sighed again.

"My real name is Katerina Petrova. I was born in Bulgaria in 1475. My family was poor and then they disowned me because I had a baby daughter in 1490. She was healthy girl, but my father took her away and I was devastated.

After I was banished to England, I had to learn to adjust, but I quickly became English. In 1492 I met Trevor who introduced me to Elijah who in turn introduced me to Niklaus or otherwise known as Klaus. I was attracted to him until I found out what he wanted. I escaped with the help of Trevor. I fell in love with him and he fell in love with me.

When I was running away once in the woods, Trevor told me to go to a cottage. 'It will be safe' he said. When I arrived, I met a women vampire named Rose. In 1492 Klaus had been tracking me for two years and I was human. Once when he captured me, he took me to his house and I stole the Moonstone. The moonstone holds the curse of the hybrid.

When Rose found out I escaped with the moonstone, she locked me in a room. She told me she would take me to Klaus in the morning. I tried to commit suicide by stabbing myself with a knife, but Rose forced me to her blood to heal me. She then left and came back with rope that would be used as a leash so I would walk, but then Trevor walked in and she left.

I used the rope and hung myself and I was in transition. When I woke up, Trevor asked why I did it. I told him that running was never going to be enough. I then drank the old lady in the house and used her as a shield when Rose tried to stake me. Then I returned to Bulgaria to find that my family and staff members were all murdered and spread across the yard and house. I wept over my mother's body and I really did try to save her. There was no saving anyone of them.

. Then I moved to America and changed my name to Katherine Pierce. Then I got two friends named Pearl and Anna. I saved a witch named Emily Bennett who was then in my debt. She made me a ring that allowed me to walk in the sun and then I moved to a small town called Mystic Falls with Emily. Then I was taken in by Giuseppe Salvatore. Father of the two Salvatore brothers. You know the rest." And then she sat back and looked at the ceiling.
