You leaned against the wall of the coffee shop. What's taking him so long? You thought. Maybe you were early? Your hands fidgeted and you looked around. You didn't notice someone move next to you."Hello."
You felt like you were going to jump out of your skin. How did this simple greeting startle you so much anyway? You turned to see Simon in a black jacket and red bow tie. "Simon, you didn't have to dress this fancy, we're just hanging out." You protested. Simon chuckled.
"Nah, this is what I always wear." He said. You both stood in silence for a few seconds, staring at each other. "Should we go in, Y/N?" Simon asked, slightly blushing. You nodded. You both reached for the door at the same time and your hands touched. You pulled away like you had touched fire and looked away.It was extremely crowded. "Darn it." Simon muttered. He turned to you. "Looks like it's a busy morning. Sorry Y/N, I don't think we're getting coffee today." You sighed, then nodded.
"So... want to hang out at my place?" You suggested. Simon's face turned red.
"Yeah! That's what friends do. We're friends..." He trailed off. It was hilarious seeing him act this way.You led him to your apartment. Your roommate was watching a sitcom on the television. She turned to the two of you. "Oh so he's here now?" She asked. Simon waved. "Is it ok if he hangs out here for a bit?" You requested. Your roommate nodded.
"Yeah sure, just don't do anything weird you two!" She teased. You and Simon went red.
"What the hell, F/N!" You yelled. Simon put his arm around your shoulders. "Just ignore her." He said and smiled at you.He sat down and you sat across from him. "So, what are you into..?" You asked.
"Well, I'm studying to be an antiquarian." Simon replied. "I discovered this book the other day. I think it was called the Enchiridion or something. Weird." He added. "Well, I really like history too." You said. Maybe you could get used to having Simon around. He really was 'your type'.You heard the theme song of the sitcom F/N was watching. Simon hummed the tune. "You're a fan?" You asked with a smirk on your face.
"Its a guilty pleasure." He laughed, and you did the same. Simon's eyes suddenly lit up.
"Y/N, I forgot to tell you, I'm going on a research trip starting tomorrow!" He told you. You raised an eyebrow. "Really? Where?" You asked. "Scandinavia." Simon said. "I'm going there because of the crown. Someone there is selling it, Y/N."You wanted to hug him. "That's amazing Simon! You're finally going to get that crown!" You were so happy for him. Something about that crown though, seemed a little off. "Are you sure about this crown thing though?" You asked. Simon nodded enthusiastically.
"Don't worry my princess!" He said. Your eyes widened.
"Wait... princess?" He blushed madly.
"Uh... you don't mind if I-I call you that do you..?" You shook your head. Then you realized something. This was a date, wasn't it?Simon looked at the clock. "Oh, I've got to go pack. Goodbye F/N, and goodbye my princess!" He called out as he stormed out of the apartment. Your roommate laughed her head off. "Princess? What kind of dorky name is that?!" She said while wiping away a tear. "I think it's sweet." You muttered. You turned to see a note on your counter. Simon's number. You picked it up and looked at your roommate.
"F/N... I think I have a crush."
