"I know he's going to be down there. He's going to be fighting, but I'm going to be living this Viva Loca."

Peggy and Angelica were currently sleeping in their rooms, leaving Eliza to deal with you. "For our own safety, it's best that we stay. If we go, we might not be able to come back. If you're friends are as witty as you say, they'll be out without a scratch."

"You don't need to have a scratch to be shot in the back of the head."

"Well that's dark... (Y/N), I really think you should get some rest. It would be best for you and I'm sure your Mr. Right would want the same." Seeing that you wouldn't win the conversation, you sighed and nodded.

"Well, goodnight, (Y/N)."

"Good night, Eliza."

"Haven't seen you around here before."

I turned my head around to see a boy and a girl standing on the porch of a quant house. If I wasn't already nervous, I know I am now. The boy was really intimidating in my book, but the girl was different. She looked so... so determined.

"We're, who you'd call, the Mulligans. Would you like to come inside for some tea?" She was indeed Irish.

The tea sounds lovely, but I'm more afraid of what Father will do to me if I'm not home soon.

Me being a novel eighteen year old, I politely declined and started to walk away with my papers and books.

"Wait!" I spun around. "I don't believe I caught your name."

I gulped and thought fast. "William."

"William," she said, emphasizing the name. "Stop by anytime. I'm a fan of poetry myself."

I looked down at my books. Damn. They're all my poetry novels. She's an observant one.

"Yes. Yes of course."

I don't know why, but I found myself getting acquainted with these 'Mulligans.'

They're the reason why I have to constantly pry away from following direct orders; however, they're also the reason why I stay true.

I remember when Father invested money from the military to that tavern.

"You will do this for however long it takes. You will do as I say, boy."

"Yes, sir."

I couldn't just say no. He'd probably throttle me.

"Remember who you're fighting for."

I am truly an idiot.

I go into the love of my life's house prepared to shoot somebody, only to have done that. I can name about seventy-two reasons why that was extremely stupid.

Just...that.

The absolute strangest thing happened today. All in all, I learned that Hercules Mulligan can see, but his sister definitely cannot.

I'll have to start the story from the beginning. No one would believe it except for (Y/N) and maybe some weird kids 200 years from now.

I made it to (Y/N)'s bakery. I heard the cannons easily, so I came to check on her. I knew that what was going on at Staten Island wasn't apart of the war. I wasn't as worried as many would have been. However, that did not mean that I wasn't worried about her safety.
