"Hal- umm hey Luke" Nathan sighed feeling he had walked in at the wrong time. Best friends faced eachother with sullen, tired faces. "Should I come back another time?" Nathan bounced on the balls of his feet hands in his pockets awkwardly. Haley shook her head as Lucas glared daggers into his best friends head, giving up he waved his hands frustratedly "of course you should'nt pick up a chair and watch our 12 year friendship end, your plan its all coming together right Nate?" he laughed bitterly. Nathan winced as Haley watched the brothers jabs at eachother, "Thats rediculous right Nathan? It cant be tr- Nathan?!" she noticed the guilt in his eyes as he turned away in shame.
"When this sham is over, Hales you know where I am? Nate? you should have checked it wasnt just Tim in the gym room" Nathan glared at his 'brother' if looks could kill Lucas would be 6 feet under right now with no headstone. Lucas smirked him before leaving slamming the door behind him.
"What was that? Nathan seriously! explain?" Haley held back the tears. Nathan rubbed his rough hands together nervously pointing towards the couch. "I would rather stand thank you, because people get sat down when another person needs to say something mostly to cover their ass" she spat. Nathan grimaced his Haley was no longer in there the one that would listen to anything he had to say no matter how stupid, instead replaced with the strict 'Tutor girl' Brooke labeled her as. Nathan sat on the arm close as he could get without reaching out to her. "Ok. When I needed a Tutor I faked the slip, I was given a dude called Ethan but I knew you were best friends with Lucas and I wanted to see who you were so I scanned the paper and forged the teachers signature on the slip. At first I was going to befriend you as a way to mess with him but.. Peyton she was on my ass so I thought if I got with someone else we would be friends and that was when I decided to date you" he looked at the ground shamefully as Haley stood infront shook. disbelieveing.
"Oh my god.. this isnt happening right now" few tears ran down her face as she wiped them away furiously.
Nathan stole a glance at her before reaching a hand out and pulling her wrist towards him gently before she yanked it from his grasp disgusted. "Look. That was ages ago!! obviously my feelings changed, remember we told eachother how we really felt!" he begged desperately hanging on to that sliver of hope. Haley was silent wrapping her arms around herself feeling extremely exposed, Nathan sighed wishing he could pull her arms away and that he would be the one to hold her, make all of her insecurities disappear. "Could you leave, please" he felt the tone in her voice the same tone she had used at their first meeting in the tutor centre. Awkward. Attention divided between the scott brothers the one that was her best friend, the boy she had loved for 12 years. The boy infront of her she had learned to love within the last 2 months they had been dating. "Im going to give you time, to think everything over. But im begging you to believe every word Ive ever said to you, they were true everything Hales. Think it over but then I need you to come back to me" Haley didnt move a muscle gazing at the floor below her, Nathan moved to stand before her. In a bold move he aimed to kiss her before she turned her face away his kiss landing on her left cheek. "I love you" he sighed before leaving the direction his brother went.
